When I picked up my R1S last month and was driving home on the freeway I was excited that the driver display showed me cars behind me and on the side of me. It helped me see the vehicles in my blind spot and also vehicles that approached quickly that I may not have seen in my mirrors. After I got home and changed a few settings the driver display now only shows the cars in front of me, which is not helpful at all. Does anyone know how to change the setting so I can see the cars behind me on the driver display?

Hit the button on the camera screen to switch to the rear cameras?

I think @Russkam is referring to the virtual view which is on the driver display centered in front of the steering wheel. I don’t recall this behavior but I generally don’t pay much attention to that portion of the display.

I don't think the driver's display supports that at all. I'm not even sure the rear facing cameras are integrated into that system making it possible.

I only recall seeing it show vehicle representations in front of and in either adjacent lane in front of or next to the Rivian. Mine often shows phantom vehicles and pedestrians, lane markings which alternate between two states, and vehicles in front of me which show as angled even though they are parallel with mine. It’s indecisive and inaccurate enough that I don’t find it very useful. Maybe it’s just our R1S?

Interesting you had something behind. My virtual view has only ever shown what's in front, and more or less adjacent. I wondered if it was a safety thing, they didn't want people relying on it.

That is correct.

On the main display to the right of the steering wheel you can show a top view along with a front or rear view. Or you can show two side views along with a front or rear view.

When you are displaying the camera views somewhere near the lower left you can "touch" the leftmost icon to switch between "top" view and "side" views. Touching the icon immediately to the right of that leftmost icon switches between "front" or "rear" views. This can be done standing still or driving down the road. All this is on the large main screen in the center of the dash.

I would love to see all cars around me on the drive display, but never have had that option/view. I’ve only seen in front or to the sides with “radar” indicators on the rear panels.
