Consider yourself very lucky....Relatively small sample size for me, but I've never had a significant problem at any of the EA sites I've visited in Montana, Washington, Idaho, or California (never used one in Oregon)
Lots of legitimate reasons for some people to avoid WM.Sounds great. I hope Walmart does this and it turns out good.
Walmart EV chargers
Thanks for sharing. I agree there might be reasons for avoiding WM. I've had some "interesting" experiences at WM but nothing compared to some of my travel experiences. I'm a big Sam Walton fan so anything WM does to improve themselves and the state of chargers is great in my book. I wish there was a way to take advantage of the solar potential most Walmarts have. I do like the idea that most WMs are within 10miles of customers. Cheers.Lots of legitimate reasons for some people to avoid WM.
But in the near term more working chargers seem to be a good thing.
This video discusses a Ft Worth Star Telegram article regarding WM plans to move forward with the roll-out of chargers past the couple of "proof of concept" locations in Northwest Arkansas and Texas.
WM is apparently moving forward with the next phase their plans to install DC fast charges at 5000 or so locations by 2030.
The video and article note fifteen new locations (maps shown and locations listed) in the DFW area to be complete by "spring". It looks like they settled on a pull through design with chargers facing alternating sides to that what side your vehicles port is on does not matter.
Hopefully the density of chargers and their prices they will charge does not dis-incentivize other providers.
You can set the amount on EA, I have my reload set to $60EA doesn't charge your card, it charges your EA account, which refills at $20 increments.
