I'm surprised how far down this is to be honest.Just use the mobile charger on an outlet. For most people there's just no downside, and the expense of a permanent EVSE offers zero value. This is what I had for many years, and the only reason I have a permanent one now is that I was given a Rivian wall charger free. Otherwise I'd still be using the portable.
I've found the 7.5-ish kW that mobile charger delivers has been more than adequate in terms of replenishing what I've used. That might change this summer when I start towing more, but I suspect I'll be just fine.
I'm in a rental and didn't want to add any more equipment as a permanent installation than I had to. SO, I put in a 14-50 outlet in the garage and moved on with life. I think I had about $250 in cost to put the outlet in, so the cost was pretty low there.
Only reasons I see to get a dedicated EVSE is if you want to maximize charge during "time of use" billing, OR if you have REALLY high daily usage and need to completely refill a big battery overnight.
