I used to own a BMW i3 and one of the most underrated features that car had was a pop up that came up when you turned off the car that asked if you wanted to turn on climate control.

It does dnt function any differently than what you can do in the app but the convenience factor alone made this so much more user friendly.

I would use it ever single time I was running into somewhere for maybe 5-10 minutes and wanted to keep my car warm or cool. And I realize this is a first world problem but the fact that it was right there when you got out the of the car made it intimately more accessible to me than having to pull out my phone and open the app to activate the climate.

Anyway, I really miss that feature

Rivian already has pet mode on the climate screen. Pull up the climate control before you get out and press the dog paw.

Yeah I could do pet mode. Again I know this sounds petty but that takes 3 clicks, I really liked the implementation that put it in your face with a single click.

Pet Mode...two taps as you leave the vehicle. I used it constantly while I was in Moab this past summer on 100F days and it was glorious to come back to the truck after a short hike to some arch or other sight.

Pet mode.
Pet mode doesn't keep the seat heat or steering wheel heat on, it limits what temperatures you can set, and it has a stupid screen showing while you are away when I would rather not advertise to everyone that the vehicle is still running.

The vehicle can't be put into gear without a key present, so kind of a strange thing to care about unless you live in an area where it's illegal to "idle" a vehicle.

Or if you live in an area where the thieves haven't read Rivian's owner manual so they are not aware that Rivian's work differently than all of the other vehicles they stole this week. Even if they can't drive off I would prefer to avoid dealing with the mess caused by someone busting out the windows thinking they would be able to.

Unfortunately car theft is a huge problem here and the car thieves around here love to target vehicles that are left idling to keep warm - which people do because it is way too cold.
