Hey guys... im new to this forum and just wanted your opinions... as the title states just wanted to see what you guys would pick with forest edge interior.

I also drive a tesla model x 295 mile range but can really only get about 240 miles... is the rivian at about 260 with large battery? Would be great if the rivian was much better like 300 miles but have a feeling the range loss is going to be about the same.

And 1 more question... it's drivers plus just as good as autopilot on the highway? And any news of if and when city drivers plus coming out?

Thanks guys

My take on this: Forest Edge is good with a neutral exterior color but best with a darker color, which is why I went with El Cap Granite. Either green exterior would probably be o.k. also.

A couple of data points regarding range - Car and Driver got 220 miles from their 75MPH test with the AT tires and 280 with the "street tires" (pictured are the 22", but I can't confirm how the test was run). The Model S Plaid in the same test did 80% of it's EPA estimate vs. the R1T returning 89%.

Thank you... great info and I'll search for some of those articles... that is nice that rivian got closer to their rates range than tesla... the model x has just never ever gotten close to rated range and I have 220k miles on my 2019 so I have a decent amount of experience in my x

Launch green with the green interior is the only other config I considered from my RC with BM interior.

Rivian R1T, Model Y
The talented Rivian designers went to great lengths to ensure that all nine exterior colors go with all three interior color choices.

My personal favorite is Limestone with a Forest Edge interior.

If you get the 21 tires, good chance you'll average over 300 miles range.

With the 20s I average ~2mi/kw 50:50 75+ mph on highway and streets in all purpose. A little bit higher in Conserve.

Autopilot definitely superior, but I place far less value in this feature than some others.

Car and Driver "EV of the year" (September) edition has a good write-up on actual vs. EPA range for several vehicles. They cover the AT configuration in the Feb/March '22 edition.

averaging over 300miles would be awesome for my purposes so thats good to hear...i think I am going to get into a rivian so hopefully that actually happens

and autopilot is a must for me as it helps tremendously on long trips...as long as drivers+ is just as good as autopilot on the highway im fine with that...hopefully they will have an update over the next year to get it in the city also.

Y'all are Speedy Gonzalezes out there flying down the highway destroying your range.

>10k miles on my 20"ATs and I get 2.36mi/kWh average in my commute with All Purpose/Standard. Cruise control at 71mph for 80% of it, rest is under 45mph.

Road trips, we get 2.2mi/kWh at 73mph in conserve/standard.

Lowest ride height is the best aero but dangerous with ATs, I never use anymore. Even Low requires stiff ride instead of soft, which is not fun. Standard in soft is worth the extra 3 minutes at a charger.

again this is great to hear...the model x was supposed to get around 3mi/kw but it was never ever close to that...more like 2.35 or 2.4 no matter how i drove...so to hear that rivian is close to that with a larger battery is fantastic.

hopefully i dont have any issues with the backseats and rear facing child seats...but overall im liking the overall package much better than the x...teslas in general just feel like crap as a car...only thing i really like about teslas is the autopilot.

You must drive like a grandpa :D . I rely almost exclusively on my regen and rarely touch my brakes. Even when trying to maximize range the highest I've ever hit over a 15 min period (part of my usual drive home from work) is 2.25 m/kw. Honestly can't imagine what I'd have to do to hit your average m/kw?
