Leasing was not an option for many of us when we got ours. It literally didn’t exist.
Funny, because even to this day, leasing in Canada still isn't an option, only purchasing.

I don't think we can lease in MN either.

I have the same issue. Fortunately still under warranty currently at 59,000 miles. Front dampers need replacement. It's being at the service center for the past week. I was told dampers are on back order and it won't be until the first week of August or so before they can fix it.
Do the pre-warranty inspection for about $250. I did that just prior to 60K, they ended up replacing dampers and the whole front subframe to the Gen2 subframe at no cost. Highly, highly recommend Gen1 owners to do this!

Just had my front damper replace at 26k miles... Didnt do the sub-frame! Happy give them $250 periodically for deeper inspections as they even found build issues that I had just learned to live with.

However I'm pretty bummed with the results due the the difference in the new front dampers and the original rears!

Just feels bouncy again, like original software level.

Kind of want to just pay to switch the rears to match the new generation warranty replacement.

Also even with a fresh alignment its pulling hard right despite the SC re balancing the wheels as a courtesy. Las Vegas service center went above and beyond so credit where credit is due...But the invoice of what it would cost did give me pause! Kind of has me thinking R2 just to escape the future headache!

I wish. But given the need to become profitable, they would need to weigh good will vs potential survival.

I suppose you could say that good will buys them additional brand loyalty, which is why I give them a bit of slack considering the preorder deal.
As a stock owner, seeing the 49% growth in service being touted as a good thing really hurts as a customer. It means they know they are gouging us because there is really nowhere else to go.

Have had the inspection done twice and "everything" was good.

still doesn't exist for many yet it doesn't stop Rivian's crack marketing team from emailing The Count "incredible lease deals!!"

2024 R1T, gen 1, 64,000 miles

Truck was just sitting in the drive way after running errands all morning. Get in to go pick up kids and “front suspension serviced” red light on and stuck in lowest height

Get it to the service center right away and they get back to me the driver side failed and have to replace everything because I have older generation. 7k out of warranty.

Awesome

I appreciate the service center getting me in same day and rapid diagnosis but being just out of warranty really sucks.

And they are charging to take off running boards and will not put them back on.

Being told “you did get 64,000 miles out of them so that’s good” and “you can take it somewhere else for repairs if you like” didn’t sit well.
Sucks. This is at the back of my mind with my 22 R1T (just under 50k miles)

The existence of this suspension will be the #1 profit source for Rivian going forward. It will also hurt them with reliability ratings. They should have 100,000 mile warranty on these.

That's just my opinion.
