Gear Cable Included with 2024 R1T?

Hi Everyone,

Pretty psyched to take delivery of my 2024 R1T next week! I read over the checklist that Electrified Outdoors put together and noticed that the gear guard cable wasn’t listed. I thought I had read that the short cable was included with the truck. Is that still true for the 2024s? Just want to make sure I check for everything.

I asked before my delivery and was told that the cable comes with the truck. Indeed, it was coiled inside the kangaroo pouch in the frunk.

The post-delivery shipping does seem to take a while. I initially thought my cross bars would come with the truck at delivery. That day, I was told they would be shipped to me within two weeks. They did get shipped in week 2, but only to the service center where I took delivery, not to me. Now I’m waiting for customer service to reply to my email confirming that the service center will send them to me.

With Gen 2 I assume it's not standard because the utility panel isn't standard but should be included if you get the utility panel but I would ask if it's important to you rather than assume, based on other changes with Gen 2

Gen 2? I did not word my original question properly. I have a Gen 2 R1T out for delivery with the utility panel. The wording on the support pages is odd. For the gear guard they mention mounts, but not the actual cable. I know for R1 the cable was included, but I’m not sure about R2. Same for the air compressor hose. They have a kit with the hose, but they don’t actually say it the utility panel comes with a hose, or if u need to buy one.

I thought all 2024 R1s were Gen 1. In my case, I have a 2024 R1.

Just ask your contacts at Rivian? You are probably among the first to receive a gen2 T. It’s only been days since their first appearance in Shop inventory. IIRC, unlike gen1, air compressor is no longer standard equipment. If you chose the option, then the accessories would be included. Gear Guard is still standard equipment. It should come with a “short” cable. The one in the Gear Shop is longer.

Now that I have my truck I can answer my own question. The 2025 R1T comes with both the gear guard cable and the air compressor hose if you get the utility panel.

The gear guard cable did not come on my 2nd gen R1T configured with utility panel. A Rivian sales person said they were no longer going to include it unless the vehicle was the ascend trim.
