Hello, curious, is the center light bars flashing green supposed to stay on for the entirety of the vehicle charging on Gen 2? Mine turns off, seems like when I lock the car or a few minutes there after. I would have thought it would stay on for whole session. Perhaps I’m missing a setting or have a software bug. Can I kindly get others input with Gen 2. Thank you

New Exterior Lights
New exterior lights enhance visibility and your driving experience:

  • The vehicle includes dynamic steering headlights. Both the low beams and high beams follow the steering angle to brighten the path while you turn the vehicle.
  • Turn signals illuminate in sequence to make the direction of a turn more noticeable.
  • When the vehicle is charging, the center light bars illuminate in sequence to indicate its charge status. Certain segments stay lit to indicate the charging level. To turn off Light Bar When Charging, go to Settings > Vehicle > Displays and Lighting > Interactive Lighting.

The behavior you describe is the same as Gen1 (where the bar turns off after you lock the car) so I suspect it’ll stay the same for Gen2.

Thats what I saw, reads as if it should stay on.

There is a setting to keep it on. Not sure why you would want to keep it on though.

On gen1 it will stay on shortly after starting the charge but once you walk away it will eventually turn off. Then proximity sensors will turn it back on when you walk up to the vehicle. The only situation where I can see where having the lights on continuously if you are nearby within visual distance and want to quickly check the charge level without looking at your app.

You can set it to stay on all the time on Gen 1 as well (using the same interactive lighting setting), although not sure why you would. I just think it draws unneeded attention to the unattended vehicle.

Thanks everyone. In my situation, we have a second home on the Chesapeake bay. The cell service is basically not existent. My driveway is situated up a hill by the a shed with our charger. Since the vehicle relies on cell service or WiFi for me to check the charge on my app, it would be convenient to see the lights as I can view the vehicle from my kitchen window. I guess my other option would be to get a mesh WiFi system and add a satellite at the shed so it can connect to the app. My assumption is that this feature would be nice for those in rural areas or on farms where either cell service is nonexistent or you don’t have a traditional garage connected to your home that can reach a WiFi signal.

I’m
