on same page… I’m doing same and everything on Soonish kit video is a breeze but for some reason I’m not getting any power from the battery posts. Using the front one w small ga wire on it so curious on what the 3 posts do
I'm only running a single 10" in a sealed enclosure, so I just tapped the 12v cig outlet in the rear (it's switched with the car). The nameplate says 180watts max, and rough napkin math puts it at 200watts (13.5v @ 15amps). It was easy in the sense that there was less wire to run, and less complicated as far as finding a remote turn-on lead.
So far, so good. The sub hits hard and hasn't blown the 15amp fuse I put in-line with the 12v positive. All that to say, if you don't need more power than that, maybe consider it. Otherwise, we need to get out your multi-meter and figure out what those posts do. I know there was talk of an always-on tap under the plastic wiper cover in the frunk.
Also, where did you decide to get your audio-signal from?

I pulled 12v off that busbar to feed a JBL 10" powered sub installed under the rear seat no problem. Fused the positive right next to the stud connection, pulled ground off a chassis bolt behind the rear seats. Grabbed signal from the pass side rear door lower speaker wires by popping off the lower b pillar trim and using a t-tap. The sub has an auto on/off based on the signal wire, so it turns on/off with the entertainment system. No phantom drain as far as I can tell.
I even had the 12v replaced at the service center last week and no shits given by Rivian on my install.
You should be fine tapping into that busbar on a gen 2, no idea why it's not working for you.

Got it as the ground I used needed TLC for full connection
rear seat under tub space and JL
8..3x3 tub Ala the Soonish set up
imo after adjusting far better eq bass down, it is far better than our Meridian on 22.
sound deadened whole under tub but left the driver side angled un protected. It’s got foam stuffed in under carpet (opening is same 6x9 as the “old subwoofer” grille on passenger side) . Result … whole tub space “pressurized” by sub and the sound leaks out all along bottoms of rear backrests and both sides at the side facing angles. Solved the “right front sidedness “ of sound. It’s sweet and only need to go to vol 11-12 on most tunes .
would be easy to get similar at factory !!!
