Some interesting tidbits I noticed from the drive screen;

• Regen seems to be off
• Wonder if they put in a bare-bones / low-power computer in there?
  • The wheel torque visual seems to be heavily delayed (like, 1 update per second).
  • Compass isn't plugged in (Stuck at 0° North)
  • Map isn't live
• Tires seem to be at 22-25 PSI
• At 8:10, the battery officially gets TOASTY

Regen seems to be off

It looks like Rivian might be giving more control to quad vehicles than they do the other ones. I don't recall seeing this section when they first announced Gen2. That it has the Pikes Peak truck as a photo for this section might be a clue as well.

I'm so glad this was posted on the official channel, the live coverage was a bit lacking.

After watching Rivian Dad's video of the R1T going it at a leisurely pace, this run looks insane!

It would have been nice for Rivian to pump in some sound that's better than that annoying discombulated in grown toe nail ice cream truck siren. (EVs need sound to meet regulations).

Hyundai amplified their stock sound through two speakers. It even has an amp on board to meet the dB requirements.

Poor rivian driver though. I bet it was like an annoying fly buzzing in your ear that you couldn't do anything about.

They left regen off to reduce tempurature spikes into the battery for more sustained power levels throughout the run.

I was really impressed by the motors, they never seemed to even reach mid range on the temps. Huge improvement! Battery thermals would have improved given the increased load of the Ascent motors, but given they did a full throttle hill climb for 11 minutes, still impressive.

Having only been able to watch it on my phone so far, I'm excited to finally get home and check it out properly.

You'll be capped at 110....130mph will only be available in launch mode. This truck has the limiter removed for the race.

I noticed too, I think this is just beta SW that needs the kinks worked out of

Probably missing some HW for those sensors and the UI lags because of it
