Is there a way in gen 1 to set the light bar in the front to show soc? Mine just flashes green when charging

Seems odd....
Not really since they made a lot of changes between hgen1 and gen2. If I recall Gen 2 also shows charging percent on the front light where as gen1 only flashed green.

I have gen 1 and the halloween mode “Trunk or Treat” displays a progressive green light bar that looks like it definitely could be used for soc.

I’m guessing it’s because Gen2 is segmented. I believe it’s 10 segments so you can read SOC to the 10% intervals. On gen1 it’ll be an ambiguous level since there’s no segments.

I’d still like the gen2 directing hazard lights. But I’d hazard a guess that it’s too low priority and very low usage to implement

Exactly this, seems arbitrary that it wouldn't be enabled

^^^ @CruxOp I think this is why. It's so diffused and there are no segments so you'd only vaguely be able to see that it's kinda sorta less than half full.

If it's addressable you could segment it virtually...

Gen 1 showed the state of charge on the front light bar very early on but they disabled it for whatever reason.
This was the intent, and as we've seen in this recent Halloween update, they all still have the ability. It's neat, but those LED's are bright as... In the evening.

Why did my brain hear that as "Use the app, Luke?"

I turned off the green charging light the first time I ever charged at night. Just way too bright!

I've got a gen 2, with this feature turned on, but it only seems to stay on for about a minute anyway -- not as cool, as I thought it would be. You plug in, you see the progress and if you check on the vehicle after 5 minutes, it's still charging but the lights are all off except for the tiny green on the charge port eject button.
