Before the last update it was terrible. I think its pretty good now after the last update, and I came from the Gen 1 Meridian. Looking forward to the next update with even more tweaks.I'm particularly surprised at how he says the sound system is great, since I've basically only heard people say it sucks and my own experience on demo drive I only found it acceptable, not good or great, and that was only after adjusting the equalizer/settings.
When I drove, it wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. The equalizer settings were terrible, not sure if someone set it like that or came from the factory like that, but after adjustment I thought "Ok, this isn't too bad". But coming from Model Y and Cybertruck which have very punchy bass, it was kinda sad. Before the last update it was terrible. Dude is hilarious. Was cracking up at the "just the tip" comment on the frunkOne of my favorite YouTube reviewers!

I've also heard the latest update has made it better. Only had a chance to listen on an early demo drive and it was just OK. Crazy that they let it ship with much more on the table. Seems to be an issue with their audio team, can't get it right and always tweaking it with software updates. Before the last update it was terrible. It's not Tesla's - nobody's is (Tesla poached Bang & Olufsen and s1nn designers) but it is very good. Just glad to see a reviewer actually discuss the sound at all.I'm particularly surprised at how he says the sound system is great, since I've basically only heard people say it sucks and my own experience on demo drive I only found it acceptable, not good or great, and that was only after adjusting the equalizer/settings.
I did not know that, now it makes sense why their audio systems rock! It's not Tesla's - nobody's is (Tesla poached Bang & Olufsen and s1nn designers)
I'm not a professional sound engineer, but a humble composer. I've never understood the desire for lots of bass in people's cars (or any sound system). Yeah, I want to hear the low notes, but not at the expense of the rest of the soundscape. Maybe that's just me?When I drove, it wasn't as bad as people made it out to be. Hope they can dial it in over the next few months before I get mine!
Given my tinnitus, the low notes are all I hear these days…I'm not a professional sound engineer, but a humble composer I've never understood the desire for lots of bass in people's cars (or any sound system). I'm sure I'll get there eventually - I may want my soundscape nicely balanced, but I also like things loud, apparently...Given my tinnitus, the low notes are all I hear these days…
It depends on the music. Most of the music I listen to is bass heavy. Well mixed, but you do want to hear the bass they added especially the lowest notes.I'm not a professional sound engineer, but a humble composer. That's one quality which makes good audio systems stand out, the bass is integrated into the rest of the system so well where is doesn't sound boomy or obnoxious. Yes, one can always make it sound boomy with setting adjustments, but low bass frequencies are necessary for nearly all music types.I'm not a professional sound engineer, but a humble composer.
