Twice now I have pulled out of my garage and input my destination in the Navigation (while waiting for the garage door to close) to find that my gps location was incorrect.

The first time it was 1 block off and remained that way for the first 5-7 minutes of my drive. The navigation kept updating as though I was a block away.

The second time it happened I had no signal at all at first (photo attached). So I did a hard reset. After the reset I regained connectivity but my location was off by 4 blocks for the first 5 minutes or so of my drive (see second photo… red star was my actual location).

Has anyone else had this issue before? The service center said they can’t find anything wrong. They asked for permission to perform a long distance test drive (115 miles) but I’m not really sure what that will do.

I’m open if anyone has any suggestions or experience with this.

Interesting. Thanks. Sure would be nice if they could all share information. My service center is aimlessly chasing a problem that your service center says is a known issue. 🤦‍♂️

i have had this issue as well a few times. the first time, it ended up auto correcting location after a handful of minutes. The second time it did it when starting a drive, i did a infotainment/software reset (not the vehicle restart), and i have not had the issue since.

This happens to me occasionally, maybe a couple times a year. Usually an infotainment reset does not resolve it but a full system reset does (hold left left steering wheel button + emergency blinker button)..

This is normal gps behavior on a cold start (got to acquire 7 or so satellites) I've noticed when using a covered garage. But why they don't keep a cache is a mystery.

Yes and Android location services use cell triangulation as well which only accurate to 100s of yards at best. It also uses Wi-Fi location services which is pretty accurate. The GPS dictionary expires and does take a while to update.

I've had this on my 23 R1T since day 1 every time I exit after our 2 hour ferry ride to the mainland. The mobile tech who comes out to us has the same issue. It's not about acquiring satellites because wife's Volvo and my old Bronco corrected in seconds. Takes 10-15 minutes to correct itself.
