February 23 update: Two weeks and one day since order.

Decided to check in with my Guide on any kind of update to the delivery timing. Sent a message on Monday, got a response first thing Tuesday morning that was It is still on track for delivery the first week of March and "In the meantime, we can start working on your tasks. It looks like we can get your registration and mailing address, financing and insurance going". Checked my account immediately after receiving the message and sure enough, nothing. So within about 60 second of receiving the text I text back that I don't have access.

Then comes the usual silence. After more than two full days I reach out again and still nothing. At this point I called the CS line and asked to speak with a manager, was promised a call back in one hour that didn't happen. Called two hours later and was again promised a call back by EOD. Again, nothing... so 5 min before Rivian's business close I chat online and the agent tells me I should have never been promised a call back that quickly, that it takes 24-48 hours.

So we'll see if I actually get to talk to some kind of manager today. From everything I've read, looks like most guides are pretty unresponsive. But still want to push to get assigned a new one that will at least aknowledge my messages in a timely manner, even if they don't have an answer.
This may sound super harsh, but let the guide program go. The only real traction I've received is from the main number. Roll who you need into CS and lay off the guides plus any toxic Tesla employees that snuck in. Boom, there's your cost savings through 2024.

Is this the main 888-RIVIAN1 number? Every time I've tried that they just say "we'll send a message to you guide" and then it's radio silence.

I had a fabulous experience with my guide. She actually called me back several times once day chasing down different answers to our questions and responded to all emails within 24hrs.

Sadly, once I found a match in the R1 Shop she handed me off to another guide specialized in delivery process and response has been slower. Even then I do find that when I text I get a response within a day.

They told you March so all the calling won't speed that up. When I confirmed I asked my guide WHERE the car was. He looked it up and said it was in WA waiting for a transporter to LA. Expect a week on that and at least another week to prep or go through the list. I waited and it happened.

Just set the whole thing aside and wait for an email.

Latest Update: I was able to speak with a "Lead Guide" late last Friday (the 23rd). He was very helpful and gave a lot more incite to everything going on.

As for the confusion about my R1S and the timing of delivery from the service center, it was caused because the vehicle is there. But they are waiting on final checks because of it being a new version of the R1S (Standard Pack) and still needing the EPA stickers. The service center made the mistake of thinking it was close to delivery because they could see it was there, but did not know about the hold on them until the first week of March.

He also assigned me a new guide (who so far has been amazing and super responsive), and gave me his direct contact information if I need anything.

Now I wait for them to give the green light for it to be delivered, hopefully in the next week or so.

Feb 29 update.... I physically got to see and sit in my R1S today! Service center manager was super cool and had it pulled around for me to check out. He expects to be able to schedule deliver "very soon. maybe even tomorrow". So?!

Are your purchase steps open? I have an R1T Standard+ order (changed from a Large battery order after the announcement) and my purchase steps are not open yet (I completed almost all of them with the previous order). It looks like my truck is at the SC (Miami) as I was scheduled for delivery on March 9th but they canceled it after I texted back to them saying my purchase steps were not open. I contacted my guide and she said:

Apologies for the mishap and any confusion. The new VIN shouldn't be scheduled for delivery yet. With the standard+ battery, we're still not into the purchasing steps. Once the purchasing process opens up, they'll be able to reach back out and get you back on the schedule.

i posted this on another thread:

They really do a good job of getting already excited customers much more excited, don't they?

On my demo drive, the guy at the SC told me that since they're right by the rail depot, they are typically seeing people who "shop available builds" get them in 1-2 weeks lately. That excited me. I found one I liked enough and paid the deposit that day.

Then one of the very next steps is to show proof of insurance and they already have a VIN (with a 2023 manufactured date) and the website says the vehicle is "moving through final quality checks". Very exciting. I might get this thing quick just like the guy said! Better hurry up and complete the purchase!

Then a guide sends an email a day later that says, "looks like your vehicle is on its final journey to you!". Very exciting, but sounds pretty urgent: the email also warns that you have to complete the payment at least three days before your delivery date (even though I don't have a delivery date yet). Website says that scheduling will unlock soon when I complete the final step, so I assume I have to complete payment to unlock this. Oh boy! So excited! Here RIVN, I'm wiring you a hundred thousand dollars right now. Can't wait!

Days go by with no steps left to complete. No delivery date.

Text the guide who sent the email with all that "on its final journey to you" baloney... Yeah, it'll be here just over a month from now. Ooof.. Wish I hadn't already sold my other truck yesterday because I didn't want to pay for insurance on both of them. :CWL: ..... ?

March 4 update:
We're now half way into "the first week of March" as Rivian promissed it would be delivered this week. I texted the delivery manager and he said that he's "hopefully" he'll have "more information for me by Friday".

?‍♂

Same boat. Ordered a Standard+ R1T 2/19 and purchase steps are not open. In Week 3 of the 5 week window. They keep quoting the missing updated EPA stickers. In hindsight, Large battery might've moved sooner. Wish I knew that when I made the deposit.

Oooh yeah.. The large and the max battery don’t have those issues. The large I ordered originally had the steps open few hours after I made the deposit. I’m not in a rush to get the car now. I have a vacation planned on the next days and will be returning on the 28th, so they can take their time.

Thursday is week 4 for me... so we'll see how this plays out.

You have a standard+ and the truck is in Miami sc already ? My guide keeps giving me the run around about the availability of mine. I received vin right when I paid deposit but can’t get a straight answer about when I will get truck.
