I'm looking for a running board but don't really need sliders (nor can I justify spending $1600+ on them), and the lead time for EV Sportline running boards seems to be quite lengthy.

Does anyone have experience with the un-branded running boards from eBay, whether on the Rivian or other vehicles?

Here's an example of one, for about $530 shipped, presumably with immediate availability.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/3050348032...=2047675&ssuid=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

The fact that they are for both the R1S and R1T gives me a bit of pause, since that means it definitely will not be a perfect fit for either. But the price and availability can't be beat, so that may be a sacrifice I can live with.

there is a guy on facebook group bought this and he said it rattles when he drive the car. It could be bad installation. Personally, I would get the Evsportline one. It is very sturdy and well made.

Excellent! What is the expected lead time on R1S running boards if I were to order now?

It boggles my mind when people can spend $80k+ on a vehicle, then cheap out on what are arguable critical aftermarket parts (critical in the sense that mount points, construction, etc of running boards is important to the function and longevity). It's like people who pay $1400 for a new smart phone, then bitch about apps being $5.99.

Rant over, the answer is always: You get what you pay for. If you're okay with "adequate" quality and okay performance, knowing they probably won't last as long as something with higher cost due to higher levels of design and construction ... then go for it.

(Note that I'm not advocating for EV Sportline's product, as even at $1600 they've had issues)

Cool. Not sure what you're going on about there. My main concern is with availability for running boards. The $2500 Weistec rock sliders are readily available, but I do not need sliders and do not wish to spend $2500 on something that I will end up using solely as a step. I have no doubt that the EV Sportline product is superior to the unbranded eBay generic stuff, but since the eBay generic running boards are available now, I would consider them. Hence, I'm asking if anyone else has already purchased them and asking for their feedback on them.

I need someone in Boston area to install . . . any leads? I can't buy w/o someone to install, cause will most definitely break something (including likely myself) if I try. Any leads?
If you go to the Weistec/DCE Dealer page and enter your zip code, two shops in the Boston area come up:

https://www.weistec.com/storelocator.html

Reach out to them. I'm sure they would install any brand slider, although they are likely going to be more performance/tuning shops.

I found an installer locally in Phoenix by just doing a search for off-road mechanic, calling around, and talking to the staff. Just doing a Google search, the place below comes up. I bet they could do it, although I have no affiliation or familiarity with the place:
