And how about when in the on position - easy to point finger at ambient light sensor then. Do your dispalya auto dim (light/dark mode) as expected?
Great suggestion and way to isolate the issue. Either way sounds like it will need service. If it still does the same in the on mode then you need to tell service it’s a safety issue so they get it fixed sooner.
The ambient light sensors you are referring to are built into and control the displays themselves. They are not the same sensors that control the headlights. My displays regularly shift from day to night without triggering the automatic headlights.
There are significant differences between 1st generation (through model year 2024) and 2nd generation (model year 2025+) headlights. What year is your vehicle? Also, when you say they back off when you stop do you mean they turn off completely or they back off the brightness a.k.a. dim? I don’t know if the gen2 lights change behavior at a stop or if there is something around when you stop which is causing them to turn off some elements.
Mine do that too. They turn off when driving under 20 mph.

Yes, the lights only come on the right side. This issues to only happen in South Lake Tahoe, when drive down to SF the issue goes away. I have a service appointment tomorrow in Reno. Hopefully the can fix this issue. I keep you posted. Thanks for your input
