Nice work! Realistically, how rain proof is it? Generally good? Eh? Not really?
I've had the truck in the monsoon-like downpour that occurred in the Northeast last weekend and while water did drip down the sides, nothing really came in to the middle part of the truck bed. I am confident that anything I put under the Interrobang cover will remain mostly dry in any weather condition. I would just pay attention to anything along the sides - if they need to remain dry, put them in plastic or something else that is weatherproof.

The Interrobang cover is the best option out there aside from the stock powered tonneau - and until that works flawlessly, I'd argue that it's better than that too.

The void drawer is really shaping up. There’s no permanent modifications required and can be installed in about 15 minutes. I’m still debating about a lock. I don’t see a way to lock it up without drilling an extra hole in the back panel. I just need to find the right sized bolts for the drawer slides because currently they catch a little. Otherwise it’s pretty slick, you tilt the panel down and the drawer slides out with it. There’s not a ton of space due to the giant top bracket Rivian used, but it’s plenty to hold my ratchet straps and whatnot. There’s only about 3.5-4” of clearance, but it’s great to reclaim that unused space. Next thing to figure out is a tonneau panel that lifts up so it can be accessed without removing the cover.
Is it any less work to create an access panel and store the aluminum sheets for the manual tonneau in that compartment? I don’t know the dimensions relative to the powered tonneau.

TLDR: sorry, it’s not happening.

I know people think they want this. If you really consider what that would be like, I don’t think it’s a great option, personally. From a design and engineering standpoint, it would be very complicated and expensive. Something like a retrax style cover wouldn’t fit. If you’re going to fit it in that space, get it to stack, and fix the jamming issues, then it seems a bit silly to leave out the motor and not just have the powered cover. Before making my first tonneau, I took off all the trim with the hope of having it fit in there. It’s just not possible without serious modifications. Definitely not something that could be installed at home by the end user or at least certainly above my pay grade.

I appreciate the feedback on it. My initial thoughts were about conserving the gear tunnel space for other items, but getting into the bed to stow the slats probably sucks to your point about just having the powered tonneau.
