Planning a ski trip to Vermont, and we want to stop at this charger to top off (https://www.plugshare.com/location/469404). It has great reviews on plugshare. However, when I search the app for high speed chargers, none show up in that location nor is that network part of the choices the app provides. So I assume that means if I navigate to its address, the battery will not precondition.

I don't see any other high speed charger in that vicinity that I could pretend to navigate to as a hack, just to get the truck to start preconditioning.

I believe my three options are:
  1. Since I'll be coming through Brattleboro (~20 mi before the charger), I could charge in Brattleboro instead with a slower charger but it could take twice as long.
  2. Navigate to a charger in Brattleboro, and then overshoot and (a) hope that the truck doesn't stop preconditioning when I overshoot, or (b) hope that the battery doesn't cool too much during the next 20 miles if the nav decides I chose not to use the charger after overshooting it. I assume (b) is wishful thinking.
  3. Take the hit and wait much longer, even just for a top off.
Is there any advice for this situation? I'm thinking 2(a) is my best bet. Has anyone tried 2(a) either planned or unplanned, by passing up a fast charger, and noticed whether the battery preconditioning continues and for how long?

Related question, is there a way to request high speed chargers (or new charging networks) to be included on the Rivian nap app? Maybe emailing my guide is the best option? I tried the links to improve Mapbox data, and there is no option for adding an EV charger, just generic options like "Address" or "Incident". (Thanks to @Dark-Fx's signature btw, that's how I always find the link to improve Mapbox ;-) ).

I think 2 should be fine. Fake the vehicle into thinking you're going to charge at the other station to get the temperature up. It'll keep re-routing, but I wouldn't expect it to abandon battery heating so easily.

Also:

4. Do donuts in the parking lot for 20 minutes before charging.

Can't wait to do this at Tesla stations with my trailer attached.

I've had this happen as well. I noticed there were high-speed chargers at rest stops in CT that weren't showing up in the Rivian map. But when I tried to use them, they wouldn't recognize my truck and wouldn't charge. Believe the brand was Applegreen. Guess they were missing from the app for good reason.
