How often does kneel mode not work: same for easy entry/ exit?

For me it's 20% of the time I'll park and kneel mode doesn't happen.

Also I'm trying to figure out why easy entry/ exit (I notice it on entry) doesn't happen, it's a good 20% of the time I get into the truck and the seat/ steering wheel don't move, the next time they'll move fine so it's not forgetting the settings, there has to be a trigger event preventing it from working, I can't figure out what that trigger is. It will fail any place not one specific location.

I'm curious how many others notice these issues, there are NOT a big deal at all so no biggie, just curious if it's widespread or unique to me.

I am not using comfort access, but I am using kneel mode. I haven't noticed any issues with kneel mode not working in my 6 days of ownership.

Just to confirm, when you put the truck into park, you aren't opening any doors or pressing the right steering wheel button until it has finished kneeling, if you do either of those it'll cancel the kneel and never complete.

Like @Destreyf , I’m not using comfort access so I cannot comment on that.

Kneel mode works consistently for me with one exception: when parking in our driveway. It has an upward slope and I just assumed that the slope may be preventing the kneel for some reason. I normally just park in the garage so this is an infrequent problem, but it is consistent. I’ll have to see if I can find somewhere else with a similar or steeper slope so I can test parking there.

@SoCal Rob, That's an interesting observation, it could very well have something to do with incline, my driveway is quite flat and the parking lots for work/stores have been fairly flat as well so this may be why I haven't noticed any issues, I can probably "borrow" a neighbors driveway for a few minutes this weekend to test this as well.

We do not use the easy entry/exit. The kneel mode does not work more often for us. I would estimate 30% or higher. I know because my girlfriend reminds me every time she climbs in or "jumps" out.

We have owned our T for almost 2 weeks.

Kneel mode and comfort access have always worked for me. I have had my Rivian since February.

The only time kneel mode didn't work it was by design. I was already in the Low suspension setting. Oh and when passengers have decided to try and exit before kneeling completed.

Easy Entry works every time for me. Kneel mode didn’t work consistently on my driveway which has a modest, but noticeable, upward slope. It worked fine in flat areas. That said, remember, it “only” goes down to 10.5 inches. For some reason, they don’t have it go down all the way like the “Sport” mode.

Stopped using kneel for time being as I am having air suspension issues with front left.

Kneel also does not work in modes other than All Purpose and Conserve (IIRC).

So just to circle, back: using all purpose mode, my garage is flat and this is where more often then not the easy access when getting back into the truck doesn't work, so the seat's far back and the steering wheel is up higher than the setting.

Also for Kneel mode I most often notice it in the garage. One thing I'm wondering is, perhaps I'm not putting it in Park, I'm just stopping and getting out but for example today when it happened, I looked back at the instrument screen and it shows in park, but kneel mode not indicated.

Oh well, it's weird, not the end of the world.

I’m in OP’s situation. Kneel and easy entry/exit don’t always work.

My work around for easy entry/exit is foot off brake, turn off/on in settings and it works .

I mentioned it to a mobile tech a while back. They suggested seat calibration. I may try that now that I can do it from the menu.

I remember they added the calibration in the menu, but I figured "that can't be it because it works sometimes" guess I should try it lol

Kneel mode doesn’t work in my driveway with a slight grade. It’s pretty annoying.

Kneel work is not consistent for me either. Doesn’t work about 20% of the time. I notice that if my wife cancelled it recently, it is then less likely to work for me after a short drive following the cancellation.

I don’t use it but notice in the driveway with an incline the truck attempts to level itself somewhat. Front wheels closer to wheel wells than the rear.
My old Audi q7 did the same thing.

@AYAYRON In my experience, If you open the driver door and hop out when it's in "HOLD" it'll automatically switch to park, but it will not engage kneel mode as the door opening acts as a cancel.

I wonder if this also has an impact on comfort access.
