install charger inside or outside garage??

I have a charger outside in Northern WI, not really an issue you'll deal with, but i just had to melt the bottom of the cable out of 2" of ice.

Going to get a main panel upgrade and finally have two ev chargers installed at my house. I have a tesla model S and an R1T. We park both outside the garage but directly outside garage.

1). How does it work if you install in the garage? Does the charging cable just run under the garage door?

2). If it does, do you risk damaging the cable when the garage door closes?

3). What would everyone's preference be.... to install inside garage or outside?

I have a similar situation, I park my truck outside garage and have charger in the garage. the cable goes right under the garage door no problem.
