Interior lights on in park

Any way to disable this? I'd still like them to turn on when a door opens but I don't need them to light up every time I hit 'park'.

I believe its a connected feature since they also turn on when you hit unlock on the Fob. You can preset the brightness level but I think its either off or on at all conditions (unlock/park/door open)as the current option.

This really needs to be customer selectable. Super annoying to have to turn off the cabin lights when setting park. It’s a bad assumption that I’ll be immediately exiting the vehicle every time.

How about some user settings:

Turn on cabin lights with door unlock: Y/N
Turn on cabin lights when set to park: Y/N
Turn on cabin lights when opening door: Y/N

I hope and expect Rivian will figure it out. Having owned a Tesla for 6 years, I watched their software go from primitive to really sophisticated and feature laden. They need time I’m sure to hear from owners and learn from their mistakes.

Easy. Put your Rivian in park, select the Vehicle app, tap on the Cabin Lights button to turn the cabin lights off, and have fun.

I find it annoying too but as mentioned before, I just hit the lock button after putting it in park and the lights go off.

Incoming truck this Friday, so pardon the pre question. I drop my daughter off at soccer 3 nights a week and sometimes just close my eyes and nap for the 1-1.5 hours. Will park & lock make the Rivian "turn off" per se (no exterior front or rear lights)?

After I select park I have to use the left stalk on the steering wheel and select lights off. Then all exterior lights go dark.

I have been following this thread for a while, I don't think it is too much to ask for a toggle that would control whether you want the lights to go on when the doors unlock or when they are opened.

Historically, the light goes on when you open a door. Not to mention the fact that it literally says "on with door open". Every car I've owned to date works this way.

I love my R1S and don't mean to be negative, has anyone tried to escalate this? Obviously a first world problem, but it is a pain to have to turn off the lights manually when you park and plan to remain in the car for a bit.

The quick controls make this less of a problem. I verified if you hit the button when it pops up the lights go out but will come back on when you open a door. I would still prefer the setting but this is a lot better now.

I agree completely, it is helpful to turn it off quickly, but the dome lights should function as advertised on the screen, and like all other cars.
