Didn't you already start a very active thread on this exact same topic?

If the R1 went in on a tow truck nine times that would be a bit much.

Or certainly if the vehicle has been in nine times for the same thing to get resolution.

I have not been counting, but I’m probably not too far behind you. Most of ours have been for panel alignment issues and the recalls. Luckily our service center is only 15 minutes away and they always give me a Rivian loaner.

Not normal for the average vehicle but we are talking about a brand new vehicle from a young company so unfortunately it is the reality for some. I’ve had much more than 9 service visits. Wish it was less.

Nine service calls in two years/50K is not good for an EV. Full stop.

Thats one every 5-6K miles and worse than a comparable ICE vehicle.

Don’t let this forum gaslight you.

My own Gen 2 R1S is tracking worse than this. 3 service visits in 1 year / 6K miles.

Then maybe it's time for something else.

I'm not going to post any more threads. Go back to your regularly scheduled Rivian love fest. My Rivian is a transportation machine. I don't love it. It's something that gets me from one place to another. Quite often it gets me to a service center.
Dude, there's nothing wrong with having the discussion - you just didn't need to make a second thread for it. Keep the discussion that you had yourself started in the same place! It's not a difficult concept.

I'm attaching a pdf listing service items. When I said oil changes I was kidding, proving Rivian owners have no sense of humor. I don't remember two threads about the same thing. I'm 73.

Thanks for posting. Couple of my thoughts:

1) Here is your other thread, started several days ago, talking about how unhappy you are with 9 service "visits". LINK

2) I'm not sure you can blame Rivian for your phone being out of date. So scratch that one off the list.

3) I would say them delivering the spare tire to your home is actually pretty great service. Good luck getting any other dealership to deliver you "something owed" at delivery to your house. You're definitely stopping by the dealership for that. So I scratch that one as well.

4) This is just my personal take, but I'm not running all the way to a service center for a single non-critical item, when I can just stack it with a real issue. i.e., no way I'm taking my truck in just for a peeling steering wheel. I'd just have them address it next time I really need to go in for a real problem. So I don't count that one.

So in my book, you have about 5 real service issues in 2.5 years. That's not ideal, I would agree. But twice-per-year service is not all that abnormal either. I had that with my previous Audi (if not more), and about that with my Infiniti before that.

So to answer your question, yes, seems pretty normal to me.

From this list, it seems like you don't have anything better to do than run to the service center for any little thing, no matter how minor. You then count this as a "service visit". Your post makes it seem like your R1 was bricked 9 times, but you have bullshit like "I didn't get a spare tire" in there.

To be honest there's probably not too much to do in Fairview, UT.
