Key FOB not working

My truck was delivered yesterday. Looks great, rides great. One issue though, the key FOB doesn’t work. None of the buttons do anything. I replaced the battery. Opened a service ticket but no response yet. Anybody have any suggestions for things I can try myself? I have not tried a soft reboot of the R1T software yet.

Look in your app and make sure the fob is registered in your list of keys. That seems to be a common problem. You should be able to get them to add it to your profile if it is not there.

I had the same thing—discovered it when picking it up at the factory. We noticed in the app and on-screen, the ID number for the fob was NA, no matter what they tried.

They just sent the tech last week to work on it (with other issues). Annoyingly, they kept having him try things for 3 hours, but I'm pretty sure the fob itself was bad from the factory. They ended up just giving me a new one which took 2 minutes to set up.

Just file a service request, I don't think there's anything drivers can do otherwise at this time, as we cannot pair fobs or key cards yet.

(It was particularly annoying because I needed them to check on the front wheel squeak, but we ran out of time, so now I had to file another service request. I'm 300 miles from the closest service center.)

My fob has never worked and I've been waiting on a service ticket since delivery two months ago. Doesn't show up in the settings or the app. Still waiting...

Fob wont be in the app. Need to go into the truck and see what keys are registered. Key fob should be in the truck menu. If not, need to pair the fob with the truck. Done from inside the truck. Nothing to do with the phone app. The phone app is only for setting up using your phone as a key.

With the latest smartphone app the fob does show there, now.

I was told the only way to pair the fob with the truck is via a service center. I don't see a way to do it in the truck menu.

Sorry, that I can't say for sure. On the Tesla, I know you could. I'm not sue on the Rivian. But either way, you can go to "Drivers and Keys" in your truck settings to at least see if there is a fob paired to the truck. If not, then you'll have your answer as to why it's not working. Then would call Rivian for assistance. Would imagine it could be done remotely? But, possibly not?

Fwiw, my fob id is “NA” but it works properly. I think the ID is just for RFID keys, like the cards and wristband.

I have similar but slightly different issue.

All of my keys (Fob, PaaK, and Cards) will lock unlock but only the cards will ‘start’ the vehicle. (Fwiw Fob says ‘NA’)

Not a huge problem temporarily but would love to not have to pull a card out every time.

Was that way when delivered and advised an OTA might fix it…but two updates later still same. Service says ‘reviewing the logs’.

There are no management features in the truck. The new app version has some, though.

Truck delivered with key fob not working. I have received constantly changing dates as to availability of new fob. Now 8/9. Tech came out to try and pair the original fob without any success. Seems to be a consistent problem.
