I noticed a little while back that Rivian changed the Lane Keep description to mention that it's goal is to "keep the vehicle centered in a lane". It definitely accomplishes this better than other Lane Keep systems I have used in other vehicles, and seems to nudge before actually running over the line on either side of the car. Being able to turn off the audible and vibration warnings is a plus, because I find them annoying.

It's definitely less aggressive about taking over steering control compared to Driver+ highway assist and I'm really wondering if that kind of aggression is what people would expect from a system that's truly designed as "Lane Centering", as I typically don't like actually being in the center of the lane when I'm around other traffic.

I haven't tried to see what the difference between Early and Normal is, and only have it in Normal.

That said, I've still been leaving it off because some of the roads I drive on are really skinny and I'd prefer being able to drive down the white line instead of being nudged off it.

I've found the notification to come up way too often. I'm thinking I may disable lane keep just to avoid the notification from chiming in so much. Especially annoying when in a narrow lane curve.

Why not turn the audio and vibration both off? Earlier software versions didn't allow for this but it changed late last year sometime. It still shows up in the display if you want to wonder why your steering is acting weird.

I always turn that off in every car as it scares the shit out of me when it corrects and I've never gotten used to it.

Because I didn't know I could do that. =)
I'll look into the menu options later today.

I turned off the audible alarms for lane keep on day 1, but I left the vibration/ correction on to give it a chance, but I've been thinking I might turn that off too. With all the crazy drivers around here I don't really stay in the middle either. I'm staying as far away as I can from whoever looks the nuttiest.

Rivian's vibration is pretty harsh but that's probably the point. I prefer it being subtle but if it's too subtle it just feels like an unbalanced wheel.

I too make sure I can't see myself in the mirrors.

I generally like LKA, but it is overly aggressive in curves. I'd turn in slightly later than it wants me to and sometimes that annoys the crap out of me. Similarly, on a canyon road I have to remember to turn LKA off because I'm always on the right edge of the road and it really doesn't like that. I wish that Alexa had the ability to turn LKA on and off so I didn't have to dig through menus to find it.

I wish that there was a fast, easy way to disable/enable lane keeping assist.

I like using it when on stretches of highway, but sometimes things happen where you need/want to drift over a line. Construction, mountain curves, other crazy drivers, etc.

Please give me a fast way to toggle lane keeping assist without diving into multiple menus and scrolling.

What I really want is a customizable display, where I can surface easy to reach toggles for whatever settings I want. Not tiny little toggle switches, but larger squares I can turn on and off without having to look and aim my finger all that hard.

Something like this:

I’ve turned the chime off, but I wish I could set it to off in Sport or something similar. It’s far too aggressive, especially in the mountain or canyon e curves, by not just nudging back to center but actually “grabbing” and holding the curve line. It’s very unusual to other systems I’ve used. I find it uncomfortable because you have to take back control causing a jerk.

Lane Keep in generally bad. Shadow on the ground from an overhead ramp, or even from a concrete median, say, close to sunset? Thinks it's a lane line. Concrete seam crossing your lane? Thinks it's a lane line. Clearly marked lane lines with some slight hints at old lane lines? It again prioritizes those light marks as the actual lane lines. It legitimately caused me to react as if maybe I had missed something, when I hadn't.

Driver+ is scary close to trucks and cars on my Right. Instead of centered, could we choose more to the left especial when your in the left lane. Also, I prefer the inside line while cornering. When centered you get too close to adjacent vehicles in corners.

Early is bordering on annoying. I have it on normal. Though decades of driving cars without nanny technology, and no habit of texting/calling while driving, I’m rarely distracted enough to need it. Nice that it’s there as a backup/assistant.

Agreed, but with a vehicle where the primary interface is a giant touchscreen the likelihood of it being needed as a backup is higher. That's honestly the only reason I leave LKA on, but it is damn aggressive on a curvy road.
