I actually love that I'm getting a 2023 as the registration is LOWER than the 2022 because it's the 2nd year run of a vehicle. In Colorado, the longer the vehicle has been around the lower the taxes.

My VIN is PN018XXX

Are you sure thats the case? My understanding was that it decreases every year that YOU own it, not how long the vehicle model has been produced.

Here is from the DMV site:

• These taxes are based on the year of manufacture of the vehicle and the original taxable value which is determined when the vehicle is new and does not change throughout the life of the vehicle.
• The specific ownership taxes you paid for a registration year are on the back of your registration receipt.

Yeah it's based on the year of the model you buy not the number of years it's been manufactured. Otherwise a 2023 4Runner would be $3 and that's not the case. The taxable value remains the same but the tax assessment % goes down the longer you own the vehicle.

Similar here... MY Vin is mid-18xxx (with "P" for the 10th digit). Also... "Delivery Scheduling opens soon"

Similar here with a P and a very early 180xx VIN.

Be prepared for a registration shock. I think it's an awful system and Colorado should base the registration on the weight of the vehicle and not the cost.

Yes the cost should be 2.1% of 75% of the MSRP, correct? MSRP is about $78K, which is $58,500. Which means I'm going to pay about $1200 to register the vehicle at 2.1%.

Hey Riv Forum team. I am new. Just got my 8 Step and order this past wk. Can this be correct? VIN NN012XXX? Seems like this number is low compared to what is being delivered lately. Can someone help demystify this for me?

Could be anything. One thing they do not necessarily come off the line in order and there are a lot of trucks at the factory and at service centers. They clearly are bottle necked in the delivery phase. It could have been one that was assigned to someone else but the sale never went trough.

I would not be too concerned about it. I just took delivery of an R1S last week, vin NN00166x built 10/22 and it is great.

I am excited but a bit defensive about the NN012XXX number. It seems to me that it has been sitting for a while? Mine is LA Silver with Ocean Coast. When did they change to metallic speaker grills? I have come to terms with the loss of the power tonneau but the possible black grills are just grating (pun intended)! Is anyone aware of any build issues of for the NN012000's vs the 16000's or 18000's??

Sept 2021 R1S pre order, 20 miles from Bellevue SC. Got mad after being bumped to 1H 2024 last week after being 1H 2023 then 4Q 2023, so I changed to a R1T on Friday.

Received a guide and Shop access yesterday morning. Locked in a Red Canyon, bright 22s, OC Dark Wood last night. VIN is in the 187XXs, still in Normal.

I doubt it's been sitting unless it was just sitting waiting for Ocean Coast trim parts. They assign VINs based on the batches of configurations they are building and they can come off the line out of order. I have a 45xx build which is Launch green with Forest Edge. I parked next to a Rivian engineer a few months ago and he was able to tell me my VIN within a few numbers without looking at it because he had one from the same batch. We actually had VINs 3 digits apart.

I think you will like the Canyon Red. We switched from Max pack Forest Green to Red Canyon in late November. Got our truck in very early December and have no issues so far. We love it. We did 21's as we live in an area with not a lot of chargers so wanted as much range as possible.
