I was invited to order a couple weeks back. I was set on Catalina Cove and waiting on Coast Clout interior until August. But I test drove again today and saw Launch Green in person and I'm sold. It looked great with Black Crater but I really like the Coastal Cloud, just not sure how it will look with Launch Green. Is anyone going to see how Launch Green looks with Coastal Cloud or is everyone just going with Black Crater?

Also, anyone like me switched once seeing a color in person vs online? I'd also like to do the matte ppf on the Launch Green, just not sure if that's in the financial cards right now.

I'm also going with Launch Green. I initially liked Catalina Cove based on the marketing images, but seeing it in person at the Austin Space compared to the Launch Green, I didn't like how murky the Catalina Cove looked outside of direct sunlight.

Personally, my favorite interior option (based on the configurator images) is the Black Crater (non-signature, from the Standard trim). I like the dark seats/dash/doors with the light headliner. Between BCS and CCS, I prefer the darker one though. Perhaps my opinion would change if I saw them in person, as I don't actively hate the Coastal Cloud, but I'm also impatient so it was easy for me to choose Black Crater.

If I could fully customize it, I would pick Black Crater Signature for all touch points, with Coastal Cloud for accents. So dark seats, armrests, console, steering wheel and light door panels, dash insert, and headliner.

I also like the look of the matte PPF, but I don't know that I like it $6000 more. I'm also concerned about the fact that if anything needs replacing, I'm forced to immediately reapply PPF (or remove it all) to avoid having one glossy panel.
I also saw conflicting info about whether the initial PPF options would be precut or full sheets, and whether they would fully wrap the edges. A clear PPF wouldn't show an edge so much, but matte would.

I ordered Launch Green with the black interior. I think it just looks better with the black. Catalina Cove or Half Moon Grey would look great with the white interior. Now if I could get Forest Edge in my Launch Green, that would be the stuff!

Our matte paint Ioniq5 looks totally badass, and the care required for it is totally breakass. We love it but will not go that route again if there's a reasonable alternative. (There was none when we bought the I5 in '22 post-pandemic but pre-crossoverEV glut.

Launch green with black crater and 20” wheels is what I’m leaning towards
Same here. Black interior works well with lighter paint and the cloud interior works best with darker colors like Borealis.

I'm a light interior guy but I just can't see it with the launch green. I think it just looks odd? Can't put my finger on it.

Launch Green + Black Crater though looks classic. Throw the Rivian all weather mats on it and you have a winner.

I'd say black crater is more rugged and coastal cloud is more luxury, so launch green and its military like color feels more appropriate with the rugged interior while purple can be luxury adjacent and feels better with the coastal cloud? Just trying to make sense of it.

My choice was Launch Green w/ Coastal Cloud. Since Coastal Cloud is light gray, should look find. Wife does not like dark interiors.

Slightly off topic but does anyone know if Coastal White is a higher quality and that is why it is more expensive?

I believe they are the same materials just in different colors. The price difference is just market segmentation, same way the paints probably aren't meaningfully different in actual cost, but they still charge $1500+ for some colors.

Of course color preference is entirely subjective, but I think Launch Green looks best with a black interior. If Forest Edge was an option, I would recommend that combination as well.

I've thought about this quite a bit too.

As a disclaimer I am in desperate need of a vehicle - mine is actively failing, and I got a 4-8wk window, so I'm just accepting whatever timeline is the fastest with the interior.

Black crater is nowhere near as dark as what the images on the website show. Every time it I see it on the website I think - this isn't what I felt like sitting in it. It's more like layered pumice grays and blacks. The stitching on the seat is quite nice too in the signature black.

Coastal Cloud has that initial impression because of its contrast. The floor mats look better [I'm putting in weather mats, so those don't even matter] and the birch color does look better, which I think is the worst part of the BC. The stitching on the coastal doesn't look as nice as it does on the BC.

I do think launch green can work with both. I would much prefer to have forest edge.
