Finally decided I’m sticking with my R1T and cancelling our R1S order so I’m getting into exterior mods.

Debadged the sides today and swapped front and back for the Abstract Ocean satin black. Rivian’s adhesive was a much bigger pain in the ass than other OEMs. Just kept rubbing with WD40 layer by layer. I also hand rubbed a polishing comppund because it left residue. Took me about 3 hours all in. Almost paid someone but figured I’d spend same amount of time finding someone.

RMaxx Running Boards go on on Monday. Then I’m powder coating the 22s Satin Black and wrapping the bumpers for sure. Haven’t decided if I want to put a light tint on all the lights. Definitely not going mega dark.

Also happened to park next to another Launch Green in Richardson today.

I'm on the other side as you, I currently have black front and back with black hook covers. I have black badges and light smoke left to do, and I'm on the fence, which tells me not to do it. Hurry up and finish so I can see my potential future!

If you don't want to be a company's billboard, you truly picked the wrong company...... Doesn't matter what it says or doesn't say in writing, anyone who would care to know what kind of vehicle it is, does at this point....

@Riviot aero wheel covers look good on the ATs!
Thanks! I think so too, but wish I went black. Looks vs functionality are still TBD, I'm getting a droning at 40-50mph and still haven't proven efficiency gains yet. I'm going to keep trying different speeds and conditions, it's gotta be there somewhere.

And if they don't, they'll ask you at Costco, Tractor Supply, the stoplight, your own driveway...

Y’all are reading too much into my comment. Anyways, I’m pretty stoked about how this is going to look when it’s blacked out.

We thought about getting a different color but since launch green was limited edition and we had the option to get it, we got it and can always wrap it in a different color of our choosing if we wanted to. Keep us posted on the update. I love the badges but to each their own. People still ask who makes it even with the giant RIVIAN logo on the back and small ones on the sides lol.

You’ll be far more satisfied with the patience, energy, and hard work you do yourself. Most admirable and waiting for pix.
While I sincerely appreciate what our fastidious owners have done, I’m in another camp across the aisle.
I’ve spent the 15 months I’ve had our LG T in numerous custom modifications.
It all started with a failed tonneau the first week - removed it and don’t miss it at all - doubtful the replacement they want to give me will survive.
Next, driving over a sewer cap flipped it into a tunnel door - bulls eye! Big dent in the middle.
Even with shoes off I can’t count the dents and dings in the tailgate and rear quarters.
Cracked taillight both sides - decent glue job.
Common gate cap clips lasted a month so it’s taped on.
Driver door pocket separated and cup holder thingies went south.
Big straw is the broken rear window - nice lexan panel taped in - SC is replacing this and State Harm is trying to claim $4600 is extortion after finding out their favored windowfolk don’t do these.
Absolutely love the truck after 15,000 miles of commercial servitude and it’s paid for itself delivering bikes and as a support vehicle for charity rides.
If we took the time to keep it concours we’d not be able to do all the work we do not to mention the stress many get when they get a boo-boo.
We get the same head turning quotient at car shows and the abusage makes great conversation as we enjoy a cold one or two from the ice cold frunk cooler.
Rat rods and originals and their owners at the car shows are among the most interesting - and you can walk up and touch them instead of ‘standing behind the ropes’!
Historically life has been far more joyous and work has been way more productive driving a ‘lived in’ vehicle.
That said, I do like those wheel covers and will get some if no one gives me permission to install the American Racing Torq Thrust wheels I’ve coveted for 57 years

I plan to debadge my side emblems. There’s still plenty of badging on it even without the two on the driver and passenger doors.

I like where you’re going. Too bad my truck got a critical battery error where I couldn’t even open the doors. Got taken back to the service center via flatbed this AM. Guessing I’m going to be without for at least a few weeks with a pack issue.
