LE No More Backlog

I said i would report back when the invite came. I placed a new reservation on June 16 and today, exactly 9 weeks later, I was invited to order a launch edition. So I think we can call it. The original reservation backlog is now done (at least for the launch edition). It took a few weeks longer than I would.

I don't think we can say that for sure at all. That is circumstantial evidence based on one data point. There are many people on here wanting to order a LE and still don't have order invites yet. There are many other people waiting for coastal cloud, forest green, and borealis. Rivian has always allowed some late order reservations to order early also. I am a prime example. Reservation placed 4/24/26 and got an order invite on day 2 June 11th.

Yeah it seems Rivian doesn't want to sell me another R2 until others get a chance.

Nope. I'm still Nov-Dec window w/a 2025 reservation for LE in Seattle metro.

But I'm OK waiting. Still not decided. My iX3 order is scheduled for early Oct production and my Slate order for Q4 production, so it'll be nice to have all 3 ready around the same time to make the decision!

I think it has everything to do with the service center and the volume of deliveries they can handle.

Chiming in, another LE selector who has not been invited to order. Fine by me as I'm waiting for the light interior and late-availability paint anyway.

If I was Rivian, I would try to ship an entire train car or truck load to a service center together to optimize transportation logistics. No one has an expectation that order date gives priority for purchase and delivery so many people know they will be waiting a while and others will get their orders sooner than their delivery date would otherwise indicate.

Yeah, I don't buy this at all. I was a day one, hour one reservation holder and was only invited to order a week ago today. I doubt they've cleared out the entire backlog if they were still handing out invites to day one holders as recently as a week ago (and there are probably other day one reservation holders still waiting).

The backlog will be cleared when you can order without first having to "reserve" on the site and/or when there are inventory cars to choose from.

I took delivery of my R2 last Friday at the Oklahoma City SC. I was their third delivery. It was 2.5 weeks from order to delivery. My choice of location was no doubt instrumental in rapid delivery. Those living on the coasts or urban areas with high EV adoption rates appear to have longer waits. My R2 was delivered to the SC by truck…so train logistics were avoided.
