So is the Rivian not even able to plug in at this charger? Are we going to run into similar issues? seems like if he backed in he would be too far away as well.
should there be a small extension style cord we can plug into it? Is that even an option with DC fast charging?

You can get extensions for Level 2 (240V) charging, but that's not going to be possible for Level 3 DCFC. Not even sure that the extensions I've seen support more than 32A either, where the R1 vehicles can charge at 48A. At least for the higher current DCFC, like EA, the cables are cooled for one thing.

Back in to the spot and use the front one?

Pull into pickup spot #11, looks like it'll reach there ?

I defiantly feel like this is a real world situation we may come into ourselves here though. yes if you back in the front one from the other stall could reach but its being used by another car who could be watching a movie while he charges for all we know. ye you could take up the pickup #11 spot but that the same as an ice car parking in a charging spot to me. also depending on how picky the store is could they have it towed then? What if there wasn't an open spot across from it or this one was built next to a wall?
Just seems like this could really suck if you were on a road trip and you needed to charge here and this is what you came up to.

Yes, this is 100% a real world problem that will happen often at EA chargers. It happens to me all the time in my Taycan.

EA locations are designed with some stalls for driver side charging and some stalls for passenger side. It's rarely possible to reach the cord far enough to charge when backing in, so really all EA locations have half the number of chargers they say they do. Also get used to ICE cars, hybrids, and cars that can't even accept 350kw charging to be parked at the 350kw stalls.

If you plug into a 150kw charger expect to see rates of 80-100 at best.

EA is adding locations but has no plans to modify their existing locations and it's not something people should think will happen.

Not a great angle but the F150 certainly looks considerably larger.

Did anyone noticed the air suspension is completely lowered in the R1T and this camera angle naturally reduces the size of the truck? Look at the 2 signs in front of the trucks...

Makes me think putting a charge port on each side of the R1 would have been really handy.

EA should have installed them as far away from the main entrance as possible. That way the only people who will ICE them are assholes and not lazy people looking for a close parking spot.

Yes, seems to be the standard for all Rivian comparison photos. Every pic I've seen like this has the R1T suspension in low mode for parking, a few pics have it even lower in "kneel" mode where it looks like it's slammed down. I think it's a combination of the low setting engaging automatically when the R1T is parked. And it also seems that many R1T people who are setting up these pictures like it that way or want it lower because they're trying to make it look smaller...?

The angle on this photo is absolutely terrible and is also purposefully making the R1T look smaller. Yes, the F-150 is a larger truck, the R1T is nearly identical in size to the 2020-2021 Toyota Tacoma. But the R1T here actually has LARGER tires on it than the Ford. The camera is positioned, intentionally perhaps, to make the R1T look smaller than it is.

The AT tires on the R1T are 276/65-20, which are 34" in diameter on 20" wheels.

The tires on the F-150 are 265/60-20, which are 32" in diameter on 20" wheels.

I fail to see the relevance. Rivian IS a smaller truck. Majority of us know this. What's the issue if appears its size? Is appearing larger a necessary component? Are people wanting to perform some sort of intimidation factor by having the truck appear larger than what it is?

To me the truck is friggin awesome MAINLY because of its size. It doesn't need to appear larger than it is as it already turns heads its direction and people will still be attracted to it over the larger trucks (even the haters, though they'll never admit to it).

Yeah, that's a jerk move. The Rivian is taking up a charging spot that somebody else may need.

An EV parking at a charger without plugging in is just as bad as an ICE vehicle parking at a charger.

It prevents people who may need it from using it.
unless any number of factors … f'rinstance the Rivian driver parked there for the sole purpose of getting a side-by-side pick with the Lightning and was gone in 60 seconds. : )

It's called being tall. My sister has stopped asking me to take pictures of her because if i take a picture from my head height, she looks like she is 3' tall.

Thankfully with smart phones I can now easily take pictures a little lower than chest height and they look semi decent.

It was mostly a comment on the observation of this consistency or photographic trend. That was all. Likewise, all the R1Ts popping up on Instagram could be setting their suspension hight to maximum and positioning their trucks in front of F-150s for comparison photos to make the R1Ts look as big or bigger. I'm glad people are not doing that.

I think most of it has to do with the pics being taken by people other than the R1T owners and when parked, the R1Ts by default go into the low suspension/parking setting. And capturing a good angle from a smartphone is difficult. Especially in a parking lot with other obstacles and usual side by side parking arrangement.
