Same issue with an LED but my whole house dims occasionally. We are all putting much more strain on stuff. I just installed a hard start on the AC because of the same problem. My voltage drops to 107v on some outlets. Only 100a panel so I have to be nice to it.

Using the RIVIAN 110v charger we had LED lights in the house that would flicker. These same bulbs also flicker when a dehumidifier is running. I blame it on the bulbs (LED replacements for halogen spots). Once we got the RIVIAN level 2 charger installed and on a dedicated 60A circuit, no flicker when charging the R1T.

I have a different weird experience with charging the Rivian! With the same EVSE, I’ve charged a Tesla and a Polestar with no issue. The Rivian actually charges fine too.

HOWEVER, whenever the Rivian is charging, the Dyson hair dryer buzzes super loud. Stop charging and the buzzing reduces. It’s super weird. Might have to do with the onboard charger

I have the same issue, two different houses and different brand dimmers. One house using the the portable charger on a 14-50 outlet and one with the wall charger. Doesn’t do it when charging my Tesla. Checked voltage at outlets and they don’t drop at all before and during charging. Wish Rivian could solve this but I’m sure it’s a hardware issue.

Caveats: I’m not an electrician. If you have doubts about your electrical service, call a certified electrician.

Many of the issues I read in this thread sound symptomatic of a poor or failed return path for your electrical service.

if you’re seeing dimming lights while there’s load (such as an EV charger) on your service, this may be caused by a poorly grounded service or bad neutral return.

We had the same issue and eventually PG&E investigated and found our return path was poorly connected at the street service connection.

Flickering lights = call your power company. Their duty is to provide clean (non-excessive voltage fluctuation) power to your panel.

For any of you asking questions I can give more info. 200 amp service. 60 amp breaker 48 amp Tesla charger. Every dimmer switch in my home is new and made for LED lights. All of my lightbulbs are new and have been replaced as stated above.
The lights do not flicker when they’re at 100% only when they’re being dimmed. It is some type of interference or feedback coming from the Rivian’s AC charging system. I have a Tesla Model 3 and it is never done it while charging that vehicle and it is not doing it with my current rental which is a Chevy Silverado EV. My electrical system is 14 years old and my EV charger was replaced last year. Everything has been checked by an electrician, and there are no loose connections. I know other people have had issues. I’m wondering if there was a solution. The only lights that are not having any issues are the ones on my guesthouse, but that’s another panel.
Had exactly the same issue with bulbs, when dimmed, at one location… around the primary suite bathroom mirror. Just bought different brand of bulbs and replaced - no issue any longer. Entire home is LED dimmables and this was the only place where we saw the flicker. Even with the same bulbs in different fixtures. Figured something about the fixture+bulb that created the opportunity.
