Aren’t these the new turbo inline 6? Edit-looks like the 6.4 v8 is standard, which I’m sure sounds amazing.

I got an Audi q7 with the turbo v6. The engine is good, but really unimpressed with everything else for a $75k vehicle. I’d take my wife’s telluride over it.

It’s a 2022 with a 5.7 L V8.Feel underpowered. Needs the 6.4 L V8 for sure or just electrify the damn thing already.

I was given a 2020 Chevy equinox that reeked of weed and cigarette smoke smell. Had it for two weeks. I will say that vehicle had better ride than the R1S. Less wind noise too! Plus CarPlay was nice.

they did say it was all they had left that wasn’t a subcompact

2023 BMW X5 from South SFO. Enterprise at San Bruno was very friendly they offered me quite a few choices: Ford MachE, Nissan Armada and X5. I went with X5.

Which location? I went to Gaithersburg and the Enterprise there gave me the worst rental I’ve ever had in my life, a Nissan Versa with cigarette burns, dog hair, dents and visible rust. I swapped today for a Cherokee (also not Grand), still undesirable but better. Did you have to pay extra?

You have to get enterprise to transfer in an R1S from another location. I personally arranged mine for pickup in Sterling, VA, but other local owners had them transferred up to Gaithersburg.

Do they at least try to give you something that’ll be somewhat equivalent (seating-wise) to the R1S?

I have an SC appointment in a month, so I anticipate getting a rental until Thanksgiving, and it would suck if they offered me a 5 seater for a family of 6.

I just got a Mercedes EQE (sedan not SUV) as a rental for my R1S. I wanted an EV as gas prices in So Cal are now $6-ish a gallon and I didn't want to fight in the gas lines at Costco to save about $0.30 per gallon.

Amazes me that for an $80k vehicle that it doesn't even have adaptive cruise control! I had to look it up on MBUSA site to find that you had to add that as an option!!! Heck, at least it has CarPlay. The biggest beef I have with the EQE (other than it is butt slow) is that the front is absolutely not visible when parking, so I have to rely on cameras and sensors to get into my garage. They beep like crazy even though I'm over a foot away from the garage edge!

One thing to keep in mind when receiving the Rivian loaner car from Enterprise is Rivian covers 1 tank of fuel… you are allowed to return the car empty. This is the first rental I’ve experience from any manufacturer / dealership that doesn’t ask for the customer to return the loaner with a comparable tank to what they received.

Yep .. was told that I just had to return the EQE with enough charge to get back from Rivian Service center (Costa Mesa) to the Enterprise Rental location next to Orange County Airport (SNA)

Hyundai Elantra. As a rental car with over 50k miles, you can imagine the kind of condition it's in.

In Rivian's defense, my local Enterprise had only a couple rental cars available and it was either that or a minivan. My R1T had to be towed 2 hours away to Chelsea for some suspension work, and the rental options in my area aren't great.
