Loud hum/rumbling when putting to gear

I've never noticed this from inside the cabin but my wife was backing up the car and I noticed a very loud hum/rumbling from the front of the vehicle. Seems strange for an EV but I'm wondering if this is something I should be worried about

That would be the sound used by Rivian to alert people that a silent ev is near. It's actually required by the ntsb.

I believe that is the pedestrian warning system or whatever it is called.

This should explain why Rivians sound is different than other EVs.

Thanks for the replies. Does seem to check out that this is expected. Driving around in the neighborhood it seemed more normal. Just surprisingly loud in the garage.

Had a panic moment because I've already had this in for service once due to the DC-DC converter. Was worried something else was going on
