Anybody else? Is there a fix?

They tilt down on reverse, but don't go back to normal once in drive/driving. Reset doesn't fix. Super safe.

I can’t get mine to program. Every time I try to adjust the settings, it just cancels and exits the edit screen.
I got frustrated and just turned it off. With the camera system I didn’t find it necessary anyways to tilt the mirrors.

Took me a few tries but eventually they started to work as intended. The driver would hardly dip when in reverse and after setting the position in the settings the 4th to 5th time it seems to have stuck. No rests yet but that was the next step.

Mine are working just fine.. odd. I will say that the default setting is way too low and need to be adjusted up a bit.

The next update seems to address this.

“Fixed a rare issue that prevented glass in the side mirrors from automatically reaching tilt or drive positions”

My problem is in editing the settings. It keeps exiting the edit session in the middle of my edit. I don’t think that fix will address my problem, but we’ll see.

Same problem on our Gen1 R1S, not safe! I added it to my upcoming appointment- hopefully they fix it before then.

Yep, mine too. Never came back to preset position. Solved by selecting off

Mine always go back to driving position when it actually tils in reverse, but every now and then they don't tilt down when I shift into reverse. It occurs a few times a week at least. I've even tried going back into park and or drive, then back into reverse....still nothing. When it decides it doesn't want to do it, there's nothing I can do in that moment to make it happen...unless I sit there long enough to do a soft or hard reset and try again. In my driveway...maybe but not likely....trying to back into a parking spot in a busy area...obviously not.

Side note: I am running home assistant and have the Rivian integration. It keeps logs of all of the actions of many sensors in the vehicle, but the side mirror tilt isn't one of them, so I cannot look at the code to see what may be causing the issue. I wish Rivian would allow more access to the software logs so users could see what may be happening in the background. I know it may not be a majority of Rivian owners interested in that kind of thing, but I am willing to bet it isn't a small number of folks either.

There is a way to capture a vehicle diagnostic when certain failures occur by long pressing either your profile icon on the center display, or long pressing the hazard button, and you can contact Rivian service with a description of what happened and the timestamp that you captured the diagnostic. It may not fix your issue immediately, but provides feedback to software engineers to more quickly identify bugs and get fixes in place for software updates.
