My charge port door is currently working but the rest of the symptoms are pretty much the same. Makes me worried that will stop as well and I have no way to see the current state of charge - how are you seeing it?

Also, I called again yesterday and this time they said it needs a 12v reset and that a mobile tech CAN do it but it doesn’t help as there aren’t any mobile appointments available anyway. Hoping the service center will try to fit me in now that a relatively simple fix is needed but can’t talk to them directly. Super frustrating.

I'm only able to get SOC from app. Rivian Service cannot see it either.

I'm supposed to have a mobile visit Thursday, but the battery will be dead by then unless Rivian can (1) find a manual charge port door answer, or (2) bump up the mobile service somehow.

It is still unclear what happens once Rivian Service does a 12v reset, ie: which software version then gets reinstalled: revert to 38, 42.0 with 42.2, 42.3 which would be new and unknown? Given the choice I'll take door number 1.

Software glitches are one thing, but unforced communications errors continue to worsen and just put a bigger burden on the company's stretched resources. 42 has been out for two weeks now. Most seemed to have moved on to the forthcoming 46.

Sorry for those with 42.1 issues. I updated to 42.1 once it seemed clear, but before the issues in this thread were reported. Since updating I'm not experiencing any new issues - for me with 42.1 phantom drain is what it's been, about 1% a day, screens turn on when I open any door, and all functions work on the infotainment. Thanks for keeping us informed about your situation.

Thanks to Denver RSC, got this squared away today. All vehicle functions resolved.

Work order states (1) Disable 12V Power, and (2) Vehicle Firmware Update (no spec shown on wo). Denver service lead described update as a "patch" for 2023.42.1, or he further described it as a "new" version of 42.1 which seemed odd vs say 42.3.

Rivian phone app shows software version 2023.42.1.

Seems like this impacted perhaps less customers than the original dorked 2023.42.0 which needed 42.2 to resolve, not sure. I'm speculating based on how quiet Rivian otherwise was about this dorked 42.1 issue.

Would welcome a description of what a "patch" is vs. new software version from more knowledgeable software folks on the forum.

Thanks for the update. I finally got in touch with the service center and they are going to get me in Saturday morning and they said it probably needs the reset plus an update as well. ?

My guess is what they meant was they re-pushed 2023.42.1, probably locally through service port rather than OTA to get a clean install.

Didn't have any issues with either of our Rivians going to 42.1, but didn't get offered the update until the second and third waves.

glad to see resolution - makes some sense that reapplying 42.1 would help. Thanks for keeping us in the loop.

That's what I'm doing. My default reaction is always to install any available update right away but resist.....don't fix it if it ain't broken.

Weirdly, the 12v battery service indicator has now gone away...

I've driven it for the past 6 days with the little yellow 12v battery indicator displaying every time I get in the truck for the entirety of the ride. No matter how much I would charge per day (70%, 75%, 100%), it would still be there the next day. Except today when I got in the truck, the error disappeared (charged to 75% overnight). TBD if it's gone for good, but I'm still keeping my Friday appt for them to check the 12v battery.

Nevermind. It returned today.

i just realized last night that my gear guard and drive cam are no longer working. i've tried all the usual things with the USB and did a soft reset, which made the drive cam symbol reappear, but it still won't record. afraid to to a hard reset, so will probably just wait until the next update (plus some time for other folks to trial it first!)

They called me up on the Thursday before the appointment and tried to push the update again so I think there were minor patches going out under the same version. It was nice to see them being proactive but it wouldn't take so I ended up with my Saturday appointment. Only took a couple hours and fixed all issues.

I had the 12v issue surface after this update too. It went away after a hard reset but Rivian pulled the logs and decided to send out a mobile technician to replace the batteries as they were seeing only ~70% charge being held on the 12v’s.

Perhaps the update actually provides a better picture of any nascent issues with the 12v system.
