I know a lot of you guys have houses that have big enough garage space that can accomodate R1T no problem but for my garage the R1T barely fits in. I just have enough space in front of the car to pass by. Where do you guys park your Rivian during night? I envy you guys who has big garage.

On second though I guess I am thankful that the R1T fits in. If it had been like Ford F150 Lightning then there would be no way lol...

I had about 3" front and back in my garage. I ended up moving some portable cabinets to get the truck in with more room.

I prioritize garage space... my wife agrees so all is well. Hey, at least it fits. That's the important thing.

I've got about 4 inches in front and behind in my garage. Yes, you have to make sure you are paying attention each time you back out or pull in, but I'm still thankful it fits at all. The front camera is a great help and I have a laser guide mounted on the wall so I always stop at the same spot. There are other tools you can buy to help, like bump stops, etc...

I can't even squeeze by mine! I have maybe 5 or 6 inches total, I use a hanging tennis ball and wired up a ultrasonic distance sensor and Arduino to help me park precisely (3" front and 3" rear!).

Wow, finally a truck thread about how *few* inches we have.

Some of us like a tight fit - makes our truck seem bigger than it is.

Also lots of talk about "balls" to balance it out. :D

Our Rivian has to sit in the driveway, mainly due to the fact that my classic cars are afraid of water, cats, birds, sun and anything else that might be lurking in the night. Hopefully the interest rates come down a little, so we can move to a smaller house, with a bigger garage ;)

My house setup is a carriage house style with a bedroom making one half of the garage parking shorter. If I parked on the short side, I would not be able to pass in front or behind the truck, or go into that bedroom. The driveway is perpendicular to the parking, so I must perform a three point turn to pull into the garage.

Mine is a night owl that stays outside every night. I park it on one side of the garage nearest the charger where I keep it plugged in overnight.

I don't have a ton of extra room. Maybe a ft in the back and a ft in the front. R1T is pretty long. On the left side (where the R1S parks) I have stairs going into the house....R1T will not fit on that side. That was my side for two years but when R1T came wife switched with me. Then two months later her R1S came and fits in the left side with again not too much extra space when you account for the stairs.

Since I live on the Oregon coast, I'm just happy it fits at all given the salt-soaked air.

Admittedly, real estate is a bit weird here. We were extremely lucky to find a remodeled home with a two-car garage when we moved over here in late 2019. Enlarging the garage is cost-prohibitive, due to the environmental impact and accounting for the downward-sloping driveway. Even most new homes only have a dinky one-car setup, and most of those start above $700,000.

How do you secure your charger for those times you're away? Or is that not a concern?
