That is wild. How close was it to also puncturing your tire?

Not that close, because it went in at an angle. I was traveling about 35-40mph when I heard a sound like something hitting the plastic fender, then a few seconds later the same sound. I think it was likely hitting the side of the tire and the inner fender.

Arizona is famous for road debris, I have pulled a screw driver and pliers out of tires. My wife had a bookcase fall off a truck in front of her on a highway, and we had a box of plumbing parts fall off a truck and take out a grille on another car.

Dude...You need to move to a state with normal highway debris like large chunks of truck tires!

We get some weird stuff on the highways here. Ladders are common. Tons of semi truck tire treads. The scariest incident I’ve had was someone who had one of those truck bed tool boxes on top of a beat up RV and it bounced off the back just as I was passing it. It was code brown.

Unreal! Very lucky it hit on the plastic mud flap/fender and that it didn't do serious damage.

One day I dodged a huge cooler in the center of the lane. It looked like it was full. I think it was one of those 150ish quart igloo ones.

... Was that in August of last year on the 60? I witnessed the same thing happen when I was visiting my buddy last summer. Same truck lost an empty washing machine box that a truck just blasted through.

Biggest thing I've had to dodge was a plastic full size pickup bed liner. It must have not been attached to the bed because it just flew out.

Metric, SAE, or Whitworth? We must start to pinpoint the culprit.

It’s a major pet peeve of mine when people don’t secure their loads while driving. If it weren’t for assholes like the dude who lost this we wouldn’t have any of the litter on the roads that we do.

Another reason why over-reliance on ADAS is foolish.
Even on the mean streets of Calgary, dodging potholes and debris makes using driver - assist a stupid proposition.
