This is why I only go to America's Tire. They do have the pucks and they rotate for free...yes, FREE. I felt bad that they did it for free, so I bought some windshield wipers from them as well as tire insurance.

Will not go anywhere else (other than Rivian SC). I also have the full-size spare that comes with the pucks as well as a jack.
That does not look like the real Discount Tire I have used for many years. DT does nothing but tires, wheels, wipers, and TMPS work.
As far as I am concerned, Discount Tire is second to none; THE most outstanding tire shop and the only one I ever will use. Just took my truck this last winter to another tire store for new tires that Discount Tire did not have and for TPMS replacements. The latter had problems; took my vehicle back to that store two more times, still was not fixed. Cut my losses, took it to Discount Tire, got fixed, period. One visit.

What I have learned and one of the first things I do to have my EVs tires serviced (Teslas and R1S) is to buy the jack pads/pucks for each. And I prep the vehicles before taking them in for service (remove hub caps, plastic nut covers, etc.), and I myself drive the vehicles into the service bay. I would pop out the R1S jack covers ahead of time.
DIscount Tire does have the right tools and accessories for the job at hand, but it is still more than happy to use mine and always let me do my thing.
Own no stock or have a vested interest in Discount Tire. Just my experience over many years of using them.
That is crazy. I had heard called Americaā€˜s tire in a few states but didnā€™t know the reason. Interesting to see which one had name first.

America's(Discount) is phenomenal. They unfortunately scratched one of my new Atomic Wheels. Owned it and quickly covered it and have the new one arriving today. Props to Atomic for honoring discounted price as well.
Thank you all for the kind words! We appreciate the opportunity to earn your business!

Americas Tire has done four sets of tires on my Tesla, and last year, I got a nail in one (non-fixable) on a trip going through Los Angeles; I looked up a local branch online close to closing time. They accommodated me and actually had one tire in stock to replace. As they installed the original set, it was covered under warranty. One hour later, I was back on my way.

Can't say enough good about them they will have my business on my news R1S picking up today

The thing is they told me they were authorized by Rivianā€¦. Which is like why even say thatā€¦ Jesusā€¦ will be going to America tire.
Yep. Amercia's tire knows what they're doing. all techs have done it the same way.

I have pucks under my rear bench as well. Both times I've gone I'm glad I brough my own. They seem to go through pucks pretty quick and have used mine both times.

So did the manager of the local "discount tire" ask you to email their chain's corporate, even though they were completely different businesses? šŸ¤”

The manager there told me to email him pictures I took and the incident that occurred. He will talk to the corporate. However, he never emailed me back with any update or confirmation of receiving the emailā€¦. I went and called their customer support. Their customer support submitted my claim to their corporate. Hopefully they will do something about it because they have so many Discount Tire service center chain here locallyā€¦

Sorry to hear about the headaches for doing tire changes.

At 27.5k miles on the R1S 21" tires, I've had great service for rotating tires, 1st from Americas Tire (when we were in California), then at Discount Tire (not centers) in Tennessee (owned by the same company). The Americas Tires account is the same one used Discount Tires and my $60k "tire rotation" carried forward from AT to DT when we relocated to TN.

In both shops, they (1) acknowledged they were trained by Rivian and (2) showed me the pucks before doing the lift.

That said, the only complaint I have is the lift cover on driver side front came off after one of the services in CA. I bought some replacement inserts from TWRAPS for ~$15 and carry the spares in the center box.

I will be replacing the tires next week and purchasing the tire rotation / inspection from these guys. Good company so far.

I had a nail on the driver-side front tire of my R1T and I didn't have the tools to fix it. So, I went to Discount Tire (DT) to get it patched up. At DT, they said they didn't have pucks but had an adapter to lift my truck, and the manager there assured me that it was okay to use it. They also mentioned that they were authorized by Rivian, which made me trust them even more. After they finished patching up the tire, they did not mention anything to me, and I had to inspect the truck myself. To my disappointment, I found that the underbody plastic panels on both the driver's side and passenger side were bent inward. I immediately went to talk to the manager, who told me to email the picture of the damage and the incident to the corporate. I want to know whether anyone else has faced a similar situation, and if DT covered the expense of replacing the plastic panels.

I had the exact same experience at Americaā€™s Tire here in California. I even brought my own pucks to be sure but they said theyā€™re an ā€œauthorized Rivian tire shopā€ and they have their own pucks. When I saw it lifted, I already knew something was wrong coz Iā€™m not seeing the jack point cover dangling. I talked to the service advisor to double check and he said it was in the right spot. Sure enough when I looked myself, it was in the wrong spot and it damaged the plastic trim. Had it checked at Rivian and luckily there was no battery/body damage. Americaā€™s Tire covered the repair thru their insurance. Lesson learned, make sure to attach the magnetic pucks yourself before letting any non-RSC tech touch your wheels/tires.

This is the reason I stick with Rivian for everything, even though it is a hike for me to Brooklyn; but mobile service was awesome.

what makes people to go outside Rivian? Is it time to get an appointment or distance or cost? It is $60 to change tires by Rivian. I really loved the service. We chatted about Rivian. So it was like talking to my buddy; really nice guy.
