I purchased both an A2Z and Lectron and the A2Z worked flawlessly while the Lectron—well built as well and a nicer lever arm release mechanism—got stuck in the supercharger plug and others have had same experience, so I’d recommend the A2Z.

A2Z has worked very well for me. Just make sure the latch underneath is set all the way to 'lock'. Only had one occurrence out of 10+ supercharges now where that prevented communication between charger and truck.

I have done a lot of research on the available adapters to use the Tesla Superchsrger network with my Rivian. Assuming that the Rivian provided adapters is still years off, I will be purchasing one of the A2Z adapters.

A2Z. However, you should put in the time to learn the differences, people’s experiences with each and determine for yourself. Start by watching State of Charge’s YouTube videos on each. They each have their pros and cons.

Great recommendation. I will check the videos and I appreciate the help. Only had my Rivian for a week and I am still learning all the feature but I love the truck!

Both A2Z and Lectron will work just as well. The nuance is in price, what they come with and ease of use.

A2Z:
  • Comes with a semi-rigid zip case (subjective on worth of that)
  • Difficult to insert and seat Supercharger plug on first use, easier at second use and beyond.
  • Slide lock mechanism is not ergonomic, but also an intentional fail safe design (will not charge if not locked, shuts off if not locked, prevents accidental removal of plug and arcing). It's not just a lock, it's also a on/off switch. Will not lock unless plug is fully seated.
  • Very responsive to customer inquires and is active/reachable on this forum

Lectron:
  • Soft pouch
  • Unlocking trigger is more ergonomic than A2Z's slider, but requires much force. Lock is just a [sticky] mechanical latch. Lectron recommends unplugging Supercharger plug with adapter still affixed to vehicle charge port. Whether you'd be comfortable exerting/transferring force to the charge port... subjective.
  • Adapter itself is slightly longer than the A2Z. This might make a slight difference if cable isn't flexible enough to reach without causing lateral strain on the charge port. But a simple matter of repositioning the vehicle, if possible.
  • Product documentation has errors

There was a recall on some of the Lectron adapters. I assume they have resolved the issue. There is a really good YouTube video from "State of Charge" comparing all 3 of them.

Back from 2k mile trip, the A2Z was easy peasy and zero range anxiety Very different experience from last summer where I got l lucky multiple times. The A2Z EASILY paid for itself on the trip from Illinois to NoVA and around NoVA area and back.

I bought both A2Z and Lectron; I sold my Lectron based on their (lack of) communication and clarity. A2Z is (based on my observations) a responsive member of this forum.

Can anyone comment if it's an acceptable use to unlock the lock on the A2z adapter to stop the charge session? I've only used mine a couple of times but it seems like I'm always forgetting to stop the charge until I get right to the handle and then I have to go back in the R1S to stop it because I was concerned about using the lock tab to do it.

You should always stop session with vehicle or Rivian app.
