I went with Lectron, it’s slightly more but a better built adapter imo. Seems to not heat as much also from the testing done by YouTubers.

Also a company that’s been around longer and located in the US. A2Z I’m sure is good as well but they are in Canada and I don’t like their sliding lock.
I dont know about that, Lectron has a reputation for adapters failure, lots of people reported overheating and melting L2 adapters from Lectron.
Based on my understanding, A2Z heats more as it is potted and transmits heat from DC bus bars to the outside. Remember, heat does not disappear, either it’s trapped inside or evacuated to the outside. Sometime last week or the week before, Tom from State of Charge reported Lectron’s unit charging slower than OEM and A2Z. Even if the adapter is passive, there can be resistance.

I must’ve missed that updated review. The one I watched from him stated the Lectron didn’t heat up as much as the A2Z and he even mentioned he didn’t like having the sliding lock on the A2Z.
Lectron imo has more of an established history making ev adaptors. This was my reasoning for going with Lectron but I guess it’s all preference

My Lectron wasn't even warm and it had between 150-180kw passing through it.

If your concerned about using a 3rd party adapter, and I totally get it if you are, then I would wait for the official Rivian adapter.

This is an additional device that's in between so it is technically an additional failure point.

Either way, the Tesla, Lectron, and A2Z are all supposed to be built to comply with the upcoming UL2252 so they should all work safely and once UL2252 is finalized and there is a standard Rivian will not be able to say anything. It will also keep the crappy low quality adapters out of the market because they will not be able to pass UL2252.

Update from A2Z on shipping.

From forum updates looks like they’re shipping out orders from March 18 right now.

Discount code “RIV” still works to save 15% off.

A2Z EV Link - NACS (Tesla® Supercharger & NACS 3RD PARTY DC CHARGERS) to CCS1 Adapter | 500A | 1000V

Hi Rich,

We are still here. Still transparent. Still involved.
Do we have slight delays? Yes, very slight. We have delivered/shipped orders from November to around mid-March. We are working almost 24/7 to meet both ends as volumes are EXTREMELY high. Being on the forums is a choice we made.

If there is anything, tag us.

We thank you for your support and trust.

I tried the discount code RIV just now and it only gives me $10 off, not $30.
Good catch. I just checked and all codes are now only taking $10 off.
