Navigation screen is black

I have on auto mode for the brightness, but the driver console is white in day mode, but for some reason, only the navigation is black screen in dark mode. The other functions on the screen like the central air and music and drive mode, are white screen and day mode. I did a factory reset and navigation screen came with a white screen but just noticed navigation going to a dark screen again. How many times do I have to reset?

Seems like you've done all the things I would do.
There have been a few bugs around screens randomly switching between day and night modes. I'd put in a ticket and report it to Rivian, probably a bug that will either need a mobile tech or a software update.

Just submitted a service ticket on the same issue for my Gen1 R1T, maybe next OTA will fix?

That happened to me a few weeks ago, was doing something on the navigation screen when backing out of my garage, rest of the truck switched to daytime but navigation stayed on nighttime. I restarted my UI and it resolved, has not happened since.

When you put in a destination, does it zoom way out when you are within a quarter mile of your next turn? This is what mine is doing. I can see from LA to Toronto. But as soon as you make the turn it zooms back in and you can at least see the route again. until the next turn

Mine had this problem (black screen and general wonky behavior when using nav). On a software reset, it would go away but then come back a little later.

Navigation was pretty much useless since it was zoomed all the way out. If you manually zoomed in, it would revert back in a few seconds when you need to know where the turn was haha.

Also in non-active navigation mode, if you move the map, there's no revert/center button again. You have to get out of the nav screen or do something else and come back.

I haven't had any serious issues in my R1S since I got it ~2 years ago but have had many "quirks" like this.

This issue seems to have resolved itself about a week and a half ago.

Dealing with the same issue! This last update did a number on my R1S!
Two Step Authentication wouldn't work - vehicle stuck and couldn't drive!
Blacked out center screen
Rear hatch and frunk started opening out of the blue!
GPS very inaccurate.
Apple Music not working at all

I have spoken with Rivian Service many of time concerning these issues and hopefully this update and a service appointment with fix all of this!
