New R1S Issues Day 1

Just took delivery yesterday. Very pleased. Still figuring everything out and no major concerns.

Noticed two minor issues. Put in a ticket for each but thought I’d post here to see 1. If anyone else has experienced these, and 2. Any thoughts on fixing so I don’t have to take it back to the service center.

Issue 1: the drivers side map light does not turn on. Every other interior light works when entering and when manually turned on. This one does not.

Issue 2: when I go into my settings and turn Auto High Beams on, the next time I drive that setting is turned off. So it’s turning itself off. All other settings appear to remain as set.

Any insight or help to save me a day dealing with these at the service center is much appreciated!

I remember reading that a few have had issues with random interior lights not working, but the service center can solve that easily. Maybe even a mobile service visit if available to you.

I can’t recall ever seeing anyone report the auto high beams shutting off on their own. That should be an easy thing for them to reproduce and diagnose.

I remember reading that a few have had issues with random interior lights not working, but the service center can solve that easily. Maybe even a mobile service visit if available to you.

I can’t recall ever seeing anyone report the auto high beams shutting off on their own. That should be an easy thing for them to reproduce and diagnose.
How does mobile work? Didn’t have that option when submitting ticket.

Yeah, you won’t see it as an option when initially submitting. All tickets go through the main service people ant your center and if they see it’s something mobile can handle they will reach out and offer that as an option for you.

You do need to have a suitable place for them to do their work if you use mobile. For example I live in a condo and my garage is too small for them to operate in so I had to go to the service center for my 7500 mile inspection even though they offered me a mobile appointment.

Although I have seen pics here where mobile appointments were completed outside. That wasn’t offered to me. Might be location based. Here in CO the weather can change completely in 30 minutes. Less likely for that to happen in CA…

I’m having the same issue with the auto high beams. Turning on the auto high beams through the setting UI is for a given trip but I need to reenable the auto high beams for the next trip.

I need to submit a ticket.

My rear passenger interior lights go into exorcist mode on washboard roads, sometimes....

SC couldn't find a problem

I guess my trucks version of getting excited for adventure.

But the lights I find interesting - I have auto high beams turned on, but my wife likes to turn them off when she drives. I found that is not tied to profile because it's still off when I get in. I'm not sure if this was already addressed in a previous update to your auto highs to driver profile, but do you have multiple drivers that change settings?

No. Only one driver. Can literally get in, turn on auto high beams, drive a few minutes with them working great, stop to get out, get back in car 2 minutes later, auto high beams are turned off. Nothing else has changed.

I had a random interior light in the back not working. It's just not plugged in all the way. Mobile service fixed in 2 minutes.

I turned off auto high beam the day I got my R1S. it has never turned back on

the auto high beams seem to be staying on now. Didn’t change anything. Fingers crossed.

Driver map light has still never come on.

NEW ISSUE #3: front trunk will not close. It’s completely empty. Hood comes down then bounces right back up. System says “object detected”.

Frunk is probably an alignment issue. The frunk has sensors all along the edges so it won’t take off your fingers like a CyberTruck.

Auto high beam might be a bug. I noticed it being spotty in my very recent pick up of R1S as well. To be fair, I get high beamed enough without them and I have them tinted so..
