When did RIVIAN move to Michigan — I must’ve missed that tidbit. Thanks for posting — stay safe out there all.

They have some facilities there, and I think they may have had corporate headquarters registered there between their start in Florida and current HQ of Irvine, CA.

Model X needs to be retired and replaced with a real SUV

Tesla lineup is missing a cheap car (less than $30K), a full size SUV, and arguably a decent looking truck

I recently Ubered in a 2024 MX and holy crap…the suspension was horrible and the road and wind noise was very intrusive. Made my R1T seem like a Bentley. I was getting motion sick in the back seat.

It is interesting to read the numerous comments about the Tesla charging network being a huge advantage for the Model X as if we were still back in 2023. The message has clearly not gotten out to the public that pretty much any EV (that is NACS enabled) now has access to both the Tesla charging network and CCS.

It's true that not everyone has heard of the NACS network opening up, and that is a big change.

But it's also true that there's an awful lot of NACS stations that are still Tesla-specific. If I look at available Tesla stations in my area from my Rivian, I only see a fraction of the stations that my wife sees in her Tesla. That may vary by location, and I don't think this will always be true, but for now we still find road trips (we do a lot of them) easier in the Tesla. We have a CCS adapter in her car just in case, but have never had to use it.

We have an R1S and a 2023 MX, and our experience is similar on the road and wind noise...the R1S is definitely better than the MX.

But our R1S doesn't have a better ride than our MX. Is your R1T a gen2? Even if not the R1T's suspension is better than the R1S', so that could explain our different ride experiences. Our gen 1 R1S and MX seem very darn similar ride-wise on the local bad roads. (I sometimes sit in the back of the MX with the grandkids, so I know what it feels like back there). I wonder what the MX's suspension settings were...you'd think they'd have it in comfort mode if they're giving Uber rides, so this seems curious.

I have a Gen 1 R1T, which by most accounts rides better than the R1S. I was shocked at the ride quality of the Model X.

only 58% of stations including some critical ones being missing

in theory tesla will continue to build more tesla-only stations to keep up the tesla edge. Tesla can make money from the supercharger subscription, so they need the bare minimum of stations to get people to subscribe

And cars with the charge port on the wrong side cannot reach short cable stations if the stations are particularly full with only a few gaps open

Weird comparison. Other than having same number of doors and being EVs, they're completely different.
