Time sensitive question for those getting the Nittos! I am having them put on today after ordering them the day before yesterday…

Which side of the tire are you going to show?

This one? It’s considered more aggressive.

or this one? Which is more subdued?

What say you, Rivian community?
Mine are getting installed Monday. I’m leaning towards option 1 (angled sawtooth). What about you?

While we’re at it, let’s collectively decide what color socks you should wear for the day (hot pink). Functionally it doesn’t matter which side. Whatever you like.
Sorry to hit you up before your morning coffee! :)

Naturally, I know that there is no functional difference. Nor do I expect everyone should do the same thing, although I like your idea of pink socks!

I was only curious what people’s aesthetic taste lean towards on the question!

My original inclination was the subdued side but I am starting to lean towards the rip saw.

I have seen pics of the rip saw side on Rivians in this thread and others but haven’t seen any pics with a Rivian with the other side.

It’s aesthetics, do you like bold or medium coffee? May as well put the more aggressive sidewall on the outside, right?

it’s subtle but the font looks slightly bigger on sawtooth side…so something to consider how loudly you want your tires to scream “Terra Grappler G3”…

I have recon grapplers but went with the less aggressive side which still is pretty aggressive, but for these tires I’d go with the aggressive side as the other side looks bland.

Just threw 275/65 G3s on my 2022 R1T. I went with the more aggressive sidewall out since why not? Stock Pirelli's made it 30k but I missed a rotation and cooked the fronts, probably could have made it another 5-10k if I'd been better about it. Lifetime efficiency has been 2.23 mi/kWh with minimal conserve mode usage. Will check back in a bit with initial thoughts.

Seems on-par with the factory ATs.

The deed is done.

I went with the bland side out! I actually like the look…not sure what that says about me but my wife says my favorite color is taupe.

Driving is real smooth on them. Very quiet on normal roads but a bit of hum on the interstate. Hopefully they will wear in…still quieter than the pirellis.

I checked my efficiency stats right before they swapped them out:

(Please forgive the dirty, smudged screen!)

I will report back after my upcoming road trip!

Got mine this afternoon too. So far, I’m liking them, but I’ll chalk that up to being the new thing. We’ll see how they do over the next few weeks. Lifetime efficiency on OEM was 2.14, so that’s the mark to beat with these.

Premature, but getting impression the Toyos are returning better efficiency for folks running them. Harder compound?

Quoting a member who has the 275/65/20 and shared the only full-vehicle photo on this forum so far- in another thread.

I went with the nitto G3 Terra grappler G3. Same size, 116 load. Very happy with them. Can’t tell if it’s the same range but they are much quieter and smoother than the toyos I had.

Very small sample size so far, but my efficiency is not off to a great start. Lifetime on Pirellis was 2.14 mpk. I’m at 1.71 mpk over the first 210 miles on the Nittos. Like I said, very early so I’m not jumping to any conclusions. Just putting it out there as a data point in case anybody cares. I’m sure these will break in and do better in the next 1000 miles or so.
