Okay Seattle traffic is worse than Portland but Portland sucks too. And honestly, I don’t know why you can’t use ACC. Except people sneaking in because you leave a car gap I really enjoys ACC in traffic. I5 north from portland to Washington border may be the slowest freeway in the country and ACC to just relax makes a commute so much nicer.
Oh give me a break…nobody knows anything about traffic until you drive 90 miles a day in LA. ?

It's all relative... my other cars have a third pedal. One is easy.

I love high-regen in the city, but for highway driving it can be a pain.

The obvious solution is to use adaptive cruise control, but even a little rain fall can cause it to present the "camera blurry" error message and then not work.

Driver+ sucks so bad in the rain that Rivian should have a disclaimer that says it won't work in Seattle around 9 out of 12 months.

I'm sure there will be people that argue that it works great in the rain, but ultimately its whether it meets or exceeds adaptive cruise control capabilities of other vehicles. In my experience even with Tesla Vision at its worst it was never as bad as Rivians Driver+ when it comes to rain.

Does anyone else miss the occasional need to take your foot off the accelerator without going into a braking nose dive?

I get the need to regenerate but having to constantly feather the pedal to adjust for traffic (without driver+) leaves me occasionally missing that feeling of coasting.

Would be nice to have a lite/no option for regen.
Totally agree, would love less regen option.

What speed do you set it at in crawling city traffic

I started a thread several months ago about this an it went to 11 pages. About 2/3 of respondents just love one pedal driving. I hated it and now only dislike it. So either the updates have made it better or I am getting more used to it.
I think braking should be on the brake pedal. Regen is great but having to hold your foot precisely all the time is literally painful.

There are two tricks you should know. Charge to 100% and you will get about 20 miles of reduced regen. Snow mode supposedly has lower regen.

Another trick is to set the cruise to below the speed you want to go and it will only brake down to that speed.

I find that the regen braking is not excessive at highway speeds. It seems to peak at about 35 mph.

I think my muscles and my subconscious have gotten better at one pedal driving. I have less pain and I can now go back and forth between my wife's minivan and the Rivian without slamming everyone around the first stop sign I come to.

But I still maintain that I, as a driver, am more dangerous with it than without. I am also more dangerous with 835 HP, but you won't hear me complain about that.:)

Even if there was a no or low regen it’s still one foot driving just like ice.

I use ACC 90% of the time, but I don’t like how slow it accelerates from a stop. With the ACC still engaged you can accelerate with traffic and when you reach the previously selected speed let off the pedal and it holds the selected speed. While this is great, when changing lanes to get around slow traffic, it can accelerate rather quickly.
