2023.42.1 seems to have reduced the time to acknowledge the phone by 80% or so. Phone now quickly unlocks the truck. Great improvement although I hope it's not transitory.

Have others had success with PaaK being much more responsive?
Yes. Lightning fast as I approach. Performs like a charm. Let’s hope it stays this way.

Add me to the list of people who are not impressed. Phone as a key has always worked pretty well for me and prior to this latest update. It was basically flawless working the best it ever has. I know this update was supposed to improve it, but I never had a problem. I just approach my car for the first time since updating and waited a good 15 seconds, standing there like an idiot for my phone to actually unlock. I can honestly say it was the worst phone as a key experience I have ever had since owning the vehicle. For me, this is a massive regression over the previous upgrades.

I can’t wait to try out my R1T as it’s just been broken since I got it. Been using a fob since day one. And never have been able to see how a phone works. And the r1t drains massive power each day. Am going to assume this is fixed whenever they replace the telematic control module in my r1t. I finally got it in for service! Been broke since May this year.
when someone said it only drains 1-2% a day I kinda cringe as other other EV’s are bmw i4 m50’s. And my m50 has unfortunately been parked since aug2nd and pulled out of the garage twice and sat in for 2hours setting up some device with the OS… Parked with 80% aug2nd and today it’s down to 77%! Losing 3% in almost 4months. Excellent imo, my wife’s m50 is driven daily and R1T is the doggo vehicle so is parked mostly until it gets fixed.

but it’s good for 1-2% power drain a day for a Rivian? Or is this still considered vampire drain I hope… Mine r1t is sucking power of maybe 6-8% a day just sitting. It’s insanity. Having to put it on a charger countless times just to park it. And that was with gear guard off. I can only imagine how much energy has been wasted this year on this r1t to just park it mostly.
What update fixed this? My truck has never had any updates since the May update 2013.14.0 which is what the app says it has, but the truck says “unknown”
No sos, no gps, no internet, no Bluetooth other than music playback.

I have high hopes this truck will bit fixed, but my first impressions have not been good. Truck has only 1500 miles on it as it’s not been really safe to drive. And since May only drove from 1100miles to 1500 this week. Or 400miles. As it’s been waiting for service appt.

really hope the SC’s improve in this area. Weird to say this is my first service appt.

And what is paak? Sorry this is new to me. Hope the phone key works well with r1t.
hoping the app will be as good or better than BMW i4 app. But still seems it does not have widgets and is a bummer. Hope that it gets an update for quicker access vs using shortcuts.

Ever since 42.2 my PAAK keeps telling me to turn off/on bluetooth because it's lost connection with the truck. It works to do so, but only if I'm standing next to the truck. Upon walking away it again loses connection. I'm using a Pixel Pro 7, and rebooting the phone didn't change anything. FOB is working normal.

Mine is now doing giving me the BT notice too.
It's also not unlocking as well as it did prior to this update. In all fairness, I have and old android - S10e. Maybe the "update" was to make it work better with newer phones/ BT tech, because mine is definitely worse. Probably going to shut it off and carry the fob.

Should make this a poll. Ain't nobody got time to read pages of "it worked" / "it didn't work", LOL. ?

That said, recently upgraded from Pixel 3 XL to Pixel 8 Pro. That plus the 42.1 update have PaaK working even better than before (and it always worked well previously). Range to lock/unlock seems more consistent. And appreciate the "lock - don't unlock" setting at home. Don't need my truck to unlock automatically every time I walk into the garage.

I have a Galaxy S10e, as well. So far, PAAK seems to be working better than usual. But I only updated yesterday afternoon.

Mine is still hot trash. Still only works after 5+ seconds or when I unlock my phone. iPhone 13 pro max. My efficiency and vampire drain have also ticked up, but it's getting colder up here in WA, so I'd probably attribute it to that more than anything.
