Was quoted $7100 for full PPF on R1S in VA recently.

Here in Los Angeles I gto a quote to PFF the entire R1S of $8600-$9400 from the company that has the best reputation. ouch…..I do plan on using the vehicle for off road adventures so I would like the protection but that is nutty expensive. Still trying to digest that price and not sure what I will do….

For the record, if you are handy and have a little time on your hands (like 2 days free) you can just DIY a full wrap or a full front wrap with a pre-cut kit. We've designed our own templates that are DIY friendly and sell them. They come with an installation kit (all the tools that you need) and an installation video for each individual panel, so there is no guess work.

So in the reviews a few pictures show the edges (I get that it is precut and that makes it DIYable) but how much edge are we to expect? I cannot believe the amount of stuff that has accumulated on my truck in the almost week I have had it and I want to get it protected.
The idea of piecing it together and doing it myself verses paying a pro for materials and a living wage seems easier to stomach for my wallet.

Currently our cut template does NOT wrap around most edges. It only wraps around on the doors as it's very easy. On multiple panels it goes edge to edge (like bumper, hood, lights) and on the trickiest ones it leaves an exposed edge. Dirt does indeed accumulate at edges, though if the edges were properly sealed with a heat gun during install, the dirt won't go under, meaning that once you wash the car the dirt also goes away. Said dirt is more visible on lighter color pains of course, so if you have a black Rivian you probably won't notice it much.
With all that said I wanted to add that I plan to make a version with edge wrapping as I want to offer a DIY Satin Wrap (and we need edge wrapping for this), and I hope to have that in March.

Looks awesome. Is it Xpel stealth wrap? I did Xpel stealth on my 2023 Tesla Model Y. The installer charged me 6,100. I am planning to do the same on my R1S, which is due for delivery in a week or two. Do you mind sharing how much they charged it for you?

Estimated cost would be 6200-6800 and includes Ceramic Coating after install.

Full Matte, with Clear on the black. Blacking out the chrome trim at roofline next week.

this price was for minor paint correction, full wrap and ceramic coating over the wrap.

Where in NC did you go? I'm a neighbor in Raleigh/Garner, so if you went somewhere in Cary, that would work for me.

I am looking to get Matte Paint protection applied. I've gotten 2 quotes from the same shop that seem very high to me. They said 10ml Matte Paint Protection film for an R1T would be $6500 or 3ml Color Change (White Matte) film would be $3500. This is in Northern New Jersey.

Has anyone done it on their truck? Please share what the cost was and the location if you don't mind. TY

$7,000 for PPF flat wrap on my R1T. Well worth it and it looks awesome on the forest green.

Has anyone had their PPF removed? What does that cost?

I watched a video of some professional shop removing an old worn out PPF from BMW and it was very labor intensive using the heat gun and patiently letting the film soften and letting the adhesive come up with the film.

I had the full front of a Ford we had removed. I was charged $250 to remove it 2 years ago. It seemed fair at the time. They spent about 3 hours doing it and came to my place to do it.
