Picked up a new Tri-Max yesterday with an unexpected feature

I went to the Miami service center yesterday to take delivery of a new Tri-Max. The delivery experience was excellent. I drove the Tri Max home and left it on the driveway so that I could go into the house and get my garage remote to pair it to the car. I looked down and lo and behold. I saw a screw in my left rear tire. I would not have noticed it had I parked in the garage since the screw was small and the garage lighting is not sunlight. I immediately photographed it and sent the photo to a service advisor. The short ending is that I drove the car back to the Miami service center this morning and they immediately replaced the tire at no charge. The point I am making is that Rivian acted in a stand up and honorable manner, they could’ve claimed I picked up the nail while driving home, but they didn’t play any games. They accepted responsibility and immediately replaced the tire. In addition the Tri Max is a phenomenal vehicle. I drove it 60 miles both to and from the Miami service center and was quite pleased with its performance, lack of rattles, and lack of wind noise. Kudos to the company and kudos to the vehicle.

There is no way to be sure how or when I picked up the screw and that is why I posted this tread to show had honorable they acted. With that said when I got back to the service center they had a hard time finding the screw, supporting that it was not easy to discover during the delivery process. In addition they told me that they use a machine to sweep the facility and parking area regularly because of all the debris that is deposited from all the deliveries they receive.

What color did you get. I picked up my trimax on Monday and the exact vehicle was being prepped for delivery

My EVs pick up screws and nails all the time. Just three weeks ago my R1T picked up two screws in one tire. It is a regular occurrence. I don't live near construction and sometimes it happens dozens or hundreds of miles away.

Kick ass of Rivian to replace the tire, even if they could have repaired it or just removed the screw--some of them never penetrate through to the inner air.

I had a nail in mine I discovered on day two. Pulled it out with some pliers and kept going.

Wind noise is noticeable at around 70 mph in my Gen 2 R1T. Got a screw embedded in mine in the first week. Discount tire removed it. No leak. Didn't need repair. Definitely going back there for my Rivian tire needs.

Most car makers will fix just about anything reasonable for the first two weeks. In once instance, I noticed a scratch a few days after delivery and I brought it back. They took care of it. In another case, we noticed our rims were totally scratched and brought it back 1.5 weeks later. They took care of it on the spot.

I’m glad Rivian did the right thing here! Just noting that just about every dealer should have done the same for you.

We have had nothing but great Service from the Miami Service center.
Lucky, I’m super envious.
How many times have you been? I took delivery there and since then have been constantly disappointed to the point where I requested to drive further to a different location. Hoping for some resolution soon.
