FYI for any future searches, just moved from a pixel 5 to pixel 8. Pixel 5 paak was intermittent (had to restart Bluetooth at least once a day and restart phone every few days to make it work). Been 2 weeks on pixel 8 with no restarts and flawless paak performance. Dunno if the Bluetooth stack on the pixel 5 was bad or just having a new install of everything cured it all, but anybody considering the pixel 8, thought I'd share. YMMV of course.

I agree here as I went from a P7P to P8P and it's been night and day difference.. not sure as well if hardware or just a fresh start

I can't speak for the Pixel variety as I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max. I know with the latest SW update on the truck, PaaK isn't as responsive as it used to be. I used to be able to walk up to the truck, open the handle and get in. Now I have to -- on many occasions -- remove the phone from my pocket and wave it in front of a door handle for it to unlock.

Just an observation I've noticed...

Did you get any deals? I'm considering switching... What benefits do you think i will see?

My P7P glitches out sometimes (apps crashing) and i have to reboot it. Otherwise its been a decent device.

I actually had to replace my display once as it crapped out. And I did find it to be a little glitchy every now and then. Knock on wood, The eight pro has been flawless up until this point. Time will tell. I pre-ordered with the free watch deal and the trade-in special. Gave my wife the watch

Just moved from 3 XL to 8 Pro. No issues with the 3, no issues (so far) with the 8. I think it's mostly iPhone users who have problems, LOL. ??

As always, remember to leave Bluetooth on and set this permission:

Oh sorry I don't know much about the OS I'm running. A good friend of mine is an IT professor and he told me to switch to it for the privacy features. I like it, and I like knowing it isn't data mining the daylights out of me.

A little off topic... But any of you gone from a Galaxy to the Pixel? I've always been a Samsung guy, but considering making the switch soon.

I was a Galaxy Flagship enthusiast thru the S9. Even had a Galaxy watch for the longest time. Then went to the more affordable Samsung with the A71.

I jumped ship to the Pixel 6 and am seriously glad I did.

I'm only up to the 7 now (mostly because the trade-up from 6 to 7 was only $129+tax), but unless they make me a compelling trade offer, I'll probably hold onto this one until the 9 or 10 (or whatever the next generation is monikered--I don't see enough justification to go from 7-8 for $350+).

I would say the combination of software performance, call screening, and a capable camera are extremely compelling reasons for the Pixel series. Not having the bloatware (and Samsung trying to jam Bixby down your throat) is the cream on top!

To add to the topic at hand, I think it's just a time thing. Newer generations tend to perform better. My 6 had some hiccups interfacing with the R1T, which got a tad bit better over time (software updates). However, the 7 works much better. I have--maybe--10% of the intermittent problems I had with the 6, if that.

So, it's no surprise to me that the 8 may be even better.
