Portable Charger Recommendations

Since Rivian is no longer including a portable charger in 2026 vehicles, what's the current thinking on the best portable charging solution?

The Rivian charger is $400 in the gear shop. Tesla sells theirs for $300 and they can be found cheaper on eBay. Both of those can do 32 amps. Lectron sells a 40 amp charger for $270. Grizzl-e sells their mini 40 amp for $479, but that also includes a set of adapters as well.

The original portable Rivian charger did what I needed it to do in my 2022. I mostly used it to plug into a welding 10-50 outlet (with an adapter) when at my ranch. Just wondering if there's a consensus on the best portable charging solution these days. Thanks.

Tesla UMC. It has the most native adapters available to plug into a variety of receptacles, is reasonably priced (plenty used) and is very reliable.

Second this. We already had a bunch of adapters for our model Y, so it’s way more versatile than the Rivian mobile EVSE.

They're all about the same in the grand scheme. Some have extra features. I have a Godiag $125 EVSE for my motorcycle which would be my top choice. It has a display and is configurable, which I find useful if I'm connecting to a limited-power outlet. For example I just used a generator to charge, and the Rivian adapter always went to 32a, choking the generator. Luckily it would later recover once I got in the car and reduced the power to 24a. If I had used the Godiag, I could pre-set it to not do this. If this had been an outlet with a breaker, I might have to reset the breaker and fight to change settings quickly.
