Portable Jump Starter

Alternator/Starter...who's keeping track, close enough.

Edit: Actually many modern ICE vehicles with auto start stop systems, the Alternator is the starter motor too (Integrated Starter-Generator). I believe these motors act as a very mild hybrid system.

I keep a tool kit in the trailer hitch to get into the frunk if the 12v dies. On roadtrips I keep a charged SLA in the frunk with post adaptors. Rivian proactively replaced my single 12V but still have never needed my setup.

Man that's not a bad idea. A LiFePO4 might be a better idea if you already have a charger for one. I might do that.

I used the full throttle SLA because the dimensions/terminal orientation fit. Charge it with a NOCO before road trips but have never used It. the posts are from Soonish.:

I was thinking a smaller battery that could just be hooked up directly to the jump ports. This is a solid setup too.

Makes sense , but if it is in the car you would still have to be able to get in .
I think tht the rear jump ports will at best charge the existing 12V but if it is not chargeable then SOL. That is why I have leaned towards being able to directly remove and replace the 12V(tool kit in frunk). I may not clear codes but hopefully could get moving.... if the 12V is the issue. All theoretical for now, but gives me some comfort on long trips.

You can get the battery as posted. The terminal posts for connection is posted at sooisnh.com and download and 3-D print the shim and cover if you want to carry your back up battery in your frunk . Hope this helps. Unfortunately, it will take some effort on your part to put this all together.
